The missing piece!
"Je suis arrive en Vendée avec Corey Maggette. Grosse fête ce soir !!!" ("Arrived in Vendée with Corey Maggette. Big party, tonight !!!") -Tony per Facebook
Back up SF? What do you think?
The missing piece!
per tmz lolSources close to Corey Maggette have indicated that the Spurs have reached out to the former All-Star about potentially playing a limited role on the Spurs
Really Dex, you don't like him? I haven't seen in play in years...
I guess that says something, huh?
I always figured/hoped the Spurs would go after him.
Is there a link?
Or is tmz the link?
Just asking.
They are playing a charity game in France today. It has nothing to do with Spurs.
I'm just messing man TMZ is very unreliable
Maggette was an exciting prospect back in 2008 or whenever it was the Spurs took a run at him. But this is a move that is 5 years too late. He's lost a step and is pushing 35.
For the minimum, I guess he wouldn't be the worst option for a backup SF or insurance policy ala T-Mac.
He could continue in T-Mac's footsteps working with Kawhi on ways to attack the basket. Though he may have lost a step, himself, he was scoring 15 with Charlotte a few years ago and I don't think he's anywhere near the crip that McGrady is (he was benched the entire season so it's kind of like he's pushing 34).![]()
I thought if he lookd good in a workout and 100% then he wouldnt be bad to have in TC... Btw his D would be betta then Tmacs imo
10 minutes a game behind Leonard wouldn't be terrible but I'd rather have a younger guy
As would I.
Possibly Young or even Nunnally.

Wouldn't be the first time we have shown interest in him. I'm not sure how much truth there is to this rumor, but we could definitely do worse at back up small forward. Provided his head is check I think he still has some left in the tank.
Seems folks are missing this...lol
lol maggette sure aint lookn like no diaw or tmac fwiw...![]()
If Pop and the FO think that Corey Maggette can help the Spurs then I think he would be a good fit. I am a Popsucker therefore I have to agree like an obedient child with every decidsion made by Pop and the FO. Excuse me for tyring to cope with everyone else.
Have you lost your mind?
Things are NOT JUST black or white as you would have us believe, there is a of a lot more gray area in life!
Thus if you believe in something Pop says, but not all of what he says, that does not make you a "Popsucker" or any other stupid derogatory name.
It just means you agree.
And all the rest that you happen to disagree with Pop on, you will just have to agree that you both disagree.
It isn't any more complicated than that, nor is it absolutist!
Got it now?
Somehow I think and sense there is a shred of common sense inside you somewhere, otherwise I wouldn't keep trying to get through to you.

I would be surprised if the Spurs didn't give Maggette a camp invite. They pursued him pretty hard about 4-5 years ago when he was a free agent and decided to sign with GS at the time.
Nope, this thread will now go 15 plus pages talking about Corey to the Spurs and how we can get him! Book it.
I believe you!
We nearly had him the last time he was a FA so....
He sucks though.
Truer words were never spoken!
The Spurs dodged a bullet by missing out on him!
he's so washed up he failed to get a rotation spot on a team that played Charlie Villanueva considerable minutes.
