If it wasn't for a lucky rebound/idiotic coaching decision, Lebron would be shunned to no ends for missing the game-tying 3. Luckily, for him, the stars aligned and a series of events lead to Ray Allen making the shot against all odds.
Nobody with half a brain would trust Lebron James with the last shot, but neither should they trust the likes of Tim Duncan and Kobe Bryant. While being excellent players, this is a niche skill and requires players who excel in it such as Derek Fischer or even Carmelo Anthony would be a far better choice.
One of the lists has Melo, Turky, Roy, Marion, Big Dog et al.....watch the damn games and you'll know who's clutch and who's is not.
I actually agree tbh last season I'd rather have Gary Neal taking the last shot to win than anyone else on the Spurs
Of course active players would rather have Kobe than Lebron take the last shot. They are all on opposing teams and want to win the game as well. With Kobe taking the shot, they have a 75% chance of winning, with Lebron, that drops to 58%.
These guys are smarter than I give them credit for.
