He's definitely wrong, but KG is underrated IMO. Just because he was on a ty Minnesota team during his prime, people act like he "wasn't good enough" to win les. In his prime, KG was pretty damn close to being as good as prime Duncan. Duncan has far better longevity though, and also made a much bigger impact in his earlier years than KG did (primarily due to the fact KG came out of high school while Duncan was more polished coming out of Wake Forest).

Speaking objectively? I Guess MAYBE he was as good as TD, but MAYBE he just didn't have it in him to be a franchise player. I mean, he didn't get the job done during crunch time. But to be fair, I never saw a lot of the wolves games during those years. In the end, isn't getting the job done at the most crucial time all that matters?

KG was every bit as good as Duncan during his prime. But Duncan had two to four other hall of famers play with him throughout his career, and that has made the difference.

That, and the fact that Tim is, was and always will be better than KG.

um, other than David Robinson, what players did Duncan play with that were Hall of Fame caliber during years KG didn't play with HoF caliber players? Let's not forget KG went to Boston to play with Pierce and Allen (and Rondo) SIX years ago. So basically Duncan had a couple years with HoF caliber teammates that KG didn't, besides the aging DRob which I'll grant you obviously.

KG wasn't every bit as good as Duncan in his prime either, he was just good at compiling personal stats as Duncan, which isn't the same as winning.

If you wanted a championship, which player would you rather have on your team lol. I've seen Duncan put a team on his back (03). Never seen that from KG. He had to join alpha pierce and ray Allen to win ONCE

To be fair, Sam Cassell and Latrell Sprewell weren't exactly Manu and Tony and that's as good as it ever got for him in MN

i still look at the spurs 03 team and don't think it was very stacked at all. Robinson was on his last legs (though he finished strong in the finals. wouldn't expect anything less from The Admiral), Manu was a rookie, Parker was in his 2nd year and found himself getting consistently yanked in favor of Speedy Claxton. Our 2nd leading scorer in the playoffs was Stephen Jackson.

Manu, Tony and maybe Bruce. And yes, he definitely had his chances with the Celtics. In fact, they were a Perkins injury away from 2.

You know what I think? I think this is a waste of brain cell. And if your friend is persistent with his take, tell him you know someone in the Spurs forum who sells brain cells for a half the price. Hit me up if he's serious in buying some.

kg is great, but the thing i have ALWAYS hated about his game was that he took too many damn 18 foot jumpers.a fadeaway 8 feet from the basket is easier to make than 15 feet or more away. and i get into these arguments too. people always say, "he had a better team than kg". which is bull and shows they don't know cuz in 2003, parker and ginobli were 2nd year players, robinson was 1 foot in the grave, glenn robinson was borderline retired while devon brown was looking like a decent player. stephen jackson played great in the finals that year. when stephen jackson is one of your top players in the finals, what does that say about your team? troy hudson was a shooter(well for the first half), casell was no bum, sprewell when he wasn't trying to feed his kids could get buckets too. the wolves weren't trash by any means. and then kg goes to the celtics while they win his first year there. i was happy for him, but what happened after that?
