NBA: Has the C position changed forever, tbh?..

The past few years, the C position has been ruled by glorified, high-end role players that would not be labeled as All-Stars in any other era of basketball, tbh..most of these players are limited offensively, the majority unable to create their own offense consistently, tbh..however, this role has become a premium for NBA teams that are now building their teams around perimeter stars with the C position serving as a defensive anchor that can rebound, rather than playing a role of offensive star..

Dwight Howard is widely criticized for his limited offensive game, but even Howard's limited offensive game is far more effective than the likes of Roy Hibbert, Noah, Chandler, Gasol, etc..the problem is that Howard isn't good enough to build your offense around like Shaq, Hakeem, etc, but his ego does not allow him to accept a role of glorified role player, which is a role he would dominate more than any other player in the league, tbh..

Is the offensive C obsolete in the NBA?..last year, Tim Duncan had the best year of any big man, making the All-NBA team at age 37, because he still maintained his offensive skill(that accompanied his defense) that virtually all of the "All-Star Cs" in today's league are lacking..guys like Brook Lopez and Greg Monroe are very good offensive Cs, yet are not hot commodities, as they don't fit the prototype for the new C position, because they lack the defensive anchor qualities..

The lack of offensive Cs is the reason an inefficient, extremely flawed player like Demarcus Cousins is hyped/overrated, tbh..

Is the C position now limited to high-end role players that can only dominate a game on one side of the floor, tbh?..Are the Marc Gasol/Roy Hibbert types the new standard for the position?..Are high-end role players the new "All-Stars" at the C, and even the PF position, tbh?..

Because no one runs pure post-ups anymore due to zone being legal. Bigs who can hedge on the pick-and-roll are far more important these days.

At least we have a lot of talented PFs running around. Love, Griffin, Aldridge, Davis... all have their limitations, but we'll see.

The contact rules in the NBA are heavily tilted toward favoring perimeter players these days, tbh... minimum contact and it's a foul... players like Harden, Westbrook, Durant, etc make a killing out of that. It's been increasingly easier to take big men out of the game that way, and why having a functioning small ball lineup is a must.

If your perimeter defense is not up to par, you're basically screwed, because stopping people at the rim is becoming incredibly difficult unless you're an athletic freak like Dwight or you have a defensive reputation like Duncan/Hibbert/Chandler...
