For the Lakers no, it wouldn't.
tbh I think it would actually be a good trade for both teams.
It's been discussed in the past: http://bleacherreport.com/articles/1...-for-pau-gasol

w/out Kobe, Pau is having a tough time getting anything going. He can't be the alpha at this stage, but Z-bo can
Fatz can't jump, run, or score anymore. Who would trade for him?
Unite the gasol brothers
both pau and z-bo are on the decline. neither has an alpha game right now, though Gasol's superior passing ability is a much better trait for an alpha to have, to create for others
ya Zbo looks on the verge of being finished.
poor Memphis, they were decent for a couple of years only
the Lakers should do the right thing and trade Gasol to his bro's team. Gasol could peacefully retire there happy. But not for Zbo, if teh Lakers want to rebuild, they'd have to trade Gasol for a few scrubs and change
king cobra ed me up.......
or trade Pau to memphis for Conley + fillers + future picks, since the Lakers need a good PG more than anything at this point of time. The grizzlies are always a feeder team to the Lakers anyway
Looks like I'm not the only one thinking

Would be an irrelevant trade for two irrelevant teams tbh.
The report of Zach Randolph's demise have been greatly exaggerated.
I'd be shocked if Zbo is still on the Grizz by the trade deadline tbh. Hollinger and co clearly want to get rid of him while there's more than likely some re ed GM out there willing to trade actual assets for him.
I think he was almost gone last year? They were mentioning him being traded before the deadline along with Gay if I am correct.
Pau's contract ends soon ...
Zbo is more effective right now ... but what good does acquiring Zbo do?
Pau is an expiring so it wouldn't be a good trade financial-wise.
But even then I really wouldn't want it because I want Pau to retire as a Laker.
