Based on strength of schedule and margin of victory. Purely numbers based.

Movers and shakers this week. Pats and Cards trending up. Seattle and Carolina battling for top spot in the NFC and the Chiefs drop in the AFC.

    AFC
    1. Broncos - Still living off of dominating offensive start. Only elite offense in football up to this point
    2. Pats - Rose up due to improved offensive play overall and winning against Denver helped strength of victory
    3. Chiefs - Best offensive performance comes in a loss and still hasn't helped offense become average overall.
    4. Bengals - Carried by strong defense up to this point.
    5. Colts - Rapidly dropping. Once surefire 2nd best team in the AFC looks to be a one and done playoff team right now.

    Best Offense - Broncos
    Best Defense - Chiefs

    NFC
    1. Seahawks - Barely edging out Panthers led by very strong defense and best NFC offense at this time.
    2. Panthers - Dropped due to lackluster performance against below average Dolphins team. Still best defense in league
    3. Saints - Offense dipped against the poor Falcons. Carried by pass rush at this time. Surprisingly excellent defense
    4. 49ers - Very good defense, but offensive needs to perform against better defenses in the league. Barely behind Saints.
    5. Cards - First time in top 5 thanks to improved offense and defense. Rising fast.

    Best Offense - Seahawks
    Best Defense - Panthers

Niners are hard for me to figure out right now. I sort of assumed this season was going to be a letdown, but they seem to be gathering some momentum. Next few games will be real interesting to see where they go from here. They could surprise some people, myself included.

I think New England will finish as the #1 seed in the AFC--which is an amazing accomplishment, given their defensive injuries and Brady's impotent supporting cast.

They seem to be getting better. They blowout Pittsburgh, went toe to toe at the Panthers, and came back from 24 down to win against the Broncos. Dangerous team.

The Pats can be beaten if defenses employ the Bearhug Gronk play

Saints > panthers imo.. I was hyping the panthers late last year. They were better than their 8-8 record

Its very close, but the Panthers defense is the only elite defense in the league at this time, both teams have a similar point differential, but the Panthers have done it over a tougher schedule at this point. The Saints offense is above average to solid at best right now. Their defense has been much better overall.

patriots could end up winning the AFC, they still have the best head coach since Bill Walsh. to beat them it will be the same as always, find a way to get pressure on brady. if he gets his customary 8 seconds in the pocket, it's tough for anyone to beat them.

Panthers dropped because they because they played lackluster against Miami. That below average Dolphin team was at .500 when they squared off. They also won at Indy, beat Cindy, and had a 17 zip halftime lead on the Pats. The only game they were blown out in was the NOR game. Sounds like a legit road win to me.
