You have to admire his hustle, though, tbh..getting a $48 million contract before stepping on the court, following a major surgery at age 35..
He knows he's done, he took the money for a reason, tbh(other than Vanessa forcing him, obviously)..

I can't stand Kobe but I even felt bad for him out there. He needs to become a spot up shooter.
Kirby doing the ol finger in the coat pocket masquerading as a gun to rob the Lakers
Fredo
Who here thought Kobe might pass instead of shoot that ball? Not me. He got what he deserved. I don't feel sorry for him. Looks like he was bent over, and the Raps just slid him up off it and hit the showers.
He hasn't been able to shoot 3s at a high level in a few years, tbh..
well this could get really ugly then.
since he signed an extension, can he still be amnestied tbh? edit: nvm. forgot they amnestied Artest.![]()

Kinda felt bad for him too for a little bit. Then I stopped and began to laugh tbh.
It was a ing dumbass extension, everyone except KOBE stand knew that form the beginning. Coming off an injury like that at 35 it is risky to sign them to anymore than 10 mill a year honestly. He got it for what he did for LA in his years they felt obligated that they owed him and it is a business but that is way too much for him now.
Kobe angry about being ranked 25th.
25th is very generous...
I forgot about this, tbh..
ESPN with the rare prognosticating goods..
I think it's been collectively decided by the lot of us that it wasn't a bad signing from a business standpoint. Keeping him around at all is a bad idea from a compe ion standpoint if for no other reason than the fact that he blocks talent.
People still think he gives a about the team? He's gonna get the money anyway no matter how ty the team turns because of him. Lakers must be regretting that they used that Amnesty provision on MWP tbh
I seriously doubt that after the Lakers fail to make the playoffs and fail to do much of anything in Free Agency that they are still going to be packing the Staples to watch a 35 win ball club led by Kobe throwing 30 foot shots up with 8 on the shot clock.
More packed than not having him there. Even if they went deep into the playoffs with a group of nobodies, Laker fan wants stars. Kobe fills that niche. The business of entertainment is different than the game of basketball.
still wont offset the cost.
That's only because he takes a -ton of off-balance contested 3's. If Kobe ever would commit to only shooting good looks with his feet set, he'd be a 40-45% 3 point shooter. He's a great shooter who takes a ton of horrible shots, which is why his percentage is so bad.
If you think the Lakers are losing money by keeping Kobe you should never make a business decision.
It's his first game back after 7.5 months. I expected this to happen.
But I would show worry if he's still like this 20 games later.
If you think the relentless Laker crowd in Los Angeles will still pay to see Kobe's bum ass play even if he sucks, you're wrong tbh.
Other than that I don't know how the Lakers will get their money back... selling hot dogs in the concession stands or giving away free tacos when the Lakers score 100+?
They will. They watched Magic when he was HI V-ing everyone.
i'd bank on that too, tbh
