Those numbers definitely show Leonard regressing in a year he should be breaking out, especially offensively. Leonard has been the biggest disappointment this year as a spur, IMO and is the reason the starters are struggling. If I was spurs management I would be calling around and gauging other teams' interest in Leonard. The spurs need more of a scoring threat at that position to help take the pressure off Parker and allow Green more open looks and so far Leonard hasn't shown he is up to the task.

The Spurs' wing positions are designed for spot-up shooting and feeding off penetration from Parker, it doesn't allow for shot creation, which we also saw with Richard Jefferson..

Leonard's 3-point shot has regressed and he isn't utilized in any other way with the starting unit..he can't drive with Parker and Splitter on the court with him, there's no room to operate..Spurs wouldn't be able to add a shot creator to play at the SF position with the Parker/Splitter pairing, it has to be a spot-up shooter, it's part of the system they utilize..

We saw what Leonard can do the other night in Golden State against an elite perimeter defender..those opportunities aren't available with Parker/Splitter on the floor with him..

The spurs struggled in the playoffs from 2008 - 2011 (2008,2009,2010,2011) 4 years!!!, and what happened when Leonard arrive? They made it to the WCF in 2012 and the Finals 2013, almost won it all too...Please give me a reason why it's not the addition of Leonard that made that happen. Just to do Justice to what you said though, which other SF in the league would you rather have in his position? Rudy Gay???? Get Real!

Well its obvious something needs to change then. Either Pop needs to coach some new wrinkles into the offense or new personnel need to be brought in because the spurs' offense can't solely rely on kick outs from Parker's penetration. The spurs need to figure out a way to add more of a scoring punch to the offense, and Leonard is the most capable right now of filling the role, as Green & Splitter are both very limited offensively.

Uh... LeBron James or Paul George??? Leonard has helped defensively and rebounding wise, he has shown flashes offensively but overall Tim, Tony & Manu have carried the workload offensively the last 2 years.

Pretty much anyone who isn't afraid to assert themselves into the offense. Paul George and Chandler Parsons come immediately to mind as viable candidates.

Leonard isn't a good offensive fit for the second unit. Perhaps he should be the first wing out instead of Green. That way, he could be the first one back to play with the spacing of the bench. He could also get some minutes at the four that way, which would be mean less Ayres.

It's also possible that the Spurs' offense needs to adapt to be able to flex other players in rather than just go through Parker and Duncan. There are ways to use Leonard more even with little spacing.

I'm really hoping that if Pop eventually increases Leonard's minutes later in the season/playoffs, he'll go with your suggestion, tbh..

Small-ball 4 is Kawhi's best position, and like you said, it would lead to less minutes for Ayres/Bonner..

His knee is fked up, I guess, tbh. Remember how many games he missed last year, tbh? And people hated on Manu and Tony for missing a lot of games, but Kawhi missed even more, IIRC!
