He needs to go to the Lakers with FK.

SAN ANTONIO — Carmelo Anthony’s former teammate needed just a few seconds to ponder the question and deliver a definitive answer.“I think he’s leaving. I’ve played with Melo for a long time and he knows he can’t win here. At this stage, all he wants to do is win. That’s why he’ll leave.”
The Knicks begin the new year with the same old problems — an injury-depleted roster, underperforming players, a losing record and a cloud of uncertainty over Anthony’s future with the club. That 2014 would start with a game against the San Antonio Spurs is appropriate because since the two teams met in the 1999 NBA Finals, one franchise has emerged as the gold standard in the NBA while the other is pure comic gold. Six weeks ago, Anthony called the Knicks a “laughingstock” and the joke is still on them.
At 9-21, the Knicks will need a small miracle to finish with a winning record, but a sub-.500 mark won’t necessarily keep them out of playoffs. Still, it’s a long way from winning 54 games last season and at least being classified a championship contender.
Another source also claims that the teams Melo is looking at are the Bulls,Clippers and the Lakers.

Anthony wants to play for a winner, but desperately wants to play in a big market because of his business ventures — his Jordan Brand sneaker line, his PowerCoco energy drink, his watch deal. That is why New York, Los Angeles, where he has a home, and even Chicago are on his short list, according to a source. The source said the Clippers — with buddy Chris Paul — are more attractive than the Lakers, though the purple-and-gold have cap space and the Clips don’t.
The Lakers also have coach Mike D’Antoni, for now. It’s hard to imagine Anthony wanting to play for him again, not after the battle they went through in New York. Of course, there is no guarantee D’Antoni will be around.
The Clippers would need to do a sign-and-trade to net Anthony, likely with Blake Griffin. The Knicks only would appease Anthony if a threat existed of losing him for nothing to a team with cap space.
The Bulls would intrigue Anthony, too, because he has a lot of respect for coach Tom Thibodeau, according to a source.
And bring KMart over too
he's toast, his only chance at actually winning in a big market was to not force himself to be traded to new york. He should have gone there in free agency, they had a very nice young core and with anthony they would have been legit. Too bad he's a re ed drama queen.
He keeps running from bad situations, but keeps ending up in them.....hmm.
That's what you said when Artest, naked, thumbed a trip out there. tee, hee.
Before the Lakers Artest had made deep playoff runs. Has Melo ever even been out of the first round?
Can you imagine Melo with 22m per and Kobe with 24m per? You'd have a of a year, Dale. Califortification.
He'll be out of it this year.
, I couldn't imagine Pierce standing tall before the man in California after he swore up and ing down it would never happen.
Missing the playffs
Gret pl

Him leaving the Knicks, combined with the Amare and Bargnani deals coming off the books, may be the best thing that could happen for that franchise. I thought the Chandler deal was one year longer, but apparently not.
Anthony has to be the most overhyped and over rated player in the league, even over kirby.
The 5 NBA World les withstanding. tee, hee.
The Lakers are in for very dark times indeed. Not even Jabari Parker can shine a light at the end of the tunnel if Carmelo happens to hop on board. A decade long dry spell is on the brink of coming to fruition - Laker fans may realize it too late how significant Carmelo's next destination will be.
Your only hope is that you get Wiggins/Parker/Embiid/Randle and he pans out. No FAs are going to make you better than a 6-8 seed next year.
There is no hope if Carmelo signs a 3+ year deal. The biggest blessing drafting a pf could provide would be the lack of interest in another pf.
