SAN ANTONIO — "In a struggling economy, getting a college education can require some imagination and effort.

Resourceful coeds at Texas State are cashing in on mature gentlemen with a little extra cash to handle their student loans and expenses, according to the website SeekingArrangement.com, which connects “sugar daddys” to the “sugar babies.”

At least 189 Texas State coeds, the 10th most of any school in the country, are members of the site, which reports the average sugar baby receives $3,000 “from her sugar daddy” in gifts and cash a month.

“The rare opportunity to finish college debt-free is made possible by the increasing popularity of the sugar lifestyle,” a spokesman writes in a release. “Within this network of sugar seekers, students are getting their college debt compensated.”

The San Marcos university, which has about 35,000 students, was the only Texas school in the top 20.

The University of Central Florida has the most sugar seekers in the country with 474."
