76ers. After all, they are coached by Brett Brown.
which team would fit him fantastically in terms of lineup dynamics and skillsets
76ers. After all, they are coached by Brett Brown.
any team with a distributing, long pg. Patty is best suited when he can defense the opposing pg, while the true pg guards a sg. Because patty is a short sg; I do not think an offense would benefit from Patty running the offense. Maybe a team with a few very strong iso players would also fit.
The league is full of scoring pgs who can distribute the ball, so I don't have any ideas.
Austin Toros, maybe the RGV Vipers
Houston, Dallas, OKC
The league is moving away from iso players. I can see him actually working pretty well on a system of flowing 6'6" and over guys all playing ball movement. Kinda like the warriors were running for awhile call him a pg have him guard the other teams pg and just let flowing offense work.
But he would still be an undersized sg masquerading as a point guard. It doesn't work that way. No can do. Sorry.
LMAO. Well played.
All the Patty fans probably want to kill me.
Patty can be good against weak compe ion. But he isn't a lot different than most of our bench, not good enough against the elite, just like the Spurs right now. We have to make a trade and upgrade our roster. I'm glad to have Patty on a night like last night, but I don't see him making a difference when it matters. The Spurs guards get shut down every year against teams with length. Why would this year be any different?
Yeah, not to mention he's a liability on defense. Reggie Jackson would eat him alive if they were to meet in the WCF. He's a good hustle player and his positive at ude certainly helps the Spurs morale but ultimately I wouldn't want to see the Spurs depending on him to run the backup point in the playoffs.
Not that I dislike the guy. I actually really like him as a player, all hustle, all heart. But 6 feet in the NBA doesn't get the job done. AI was the exception, but even he never got a ring. And Patty ain't AI. If the Spurs can bring in some more talent, then Patty is an awesome complimentary piece. But it's like you said, if the Spurs really have to depend on him to win games in the playoffs we are all going to be sad. I know this won't be a popular sentiment.
I hope Patty can prove me wrong, but I really doubt it. Size matters imo. If I have to eat crow I will enjoy doing so in this case.
Yeah, many people think I want Patty to fail, I hope he proves me wrong actually shows up against elite teams but I doubt it will happen.
76ers.
If Brett Brown can do what he did to Anderson, imagine what he'd do with Patty.
Not exactly true. Anderson was a damn good player coming out of college. Injuries derailed his career. Now he is healthy and doing decent.
If he wants to get payed, non-contender. If he wants to win, Portland, Houston or Miami.
Anderson is shooting 31% from long range and hasn't scored 20+ in close to 3 months since his flukish 36 point game, despite being in the starting lineup for most of that. Oh and the sixers have sucked balls during that time as well.
Decent my ass.
I'd love to see Patty play for MIA!!!! My boat slip is less than two blocks from the AA Arena. I doubt Pop will ever trust Mills....so trade him now or let him go as a free agent next year.![]()
Mavs tbh. Cuban loves to riffle through the Spurs' garbage bin (not that Patty is trash, mind you).
Funny analogy. I bet Cuban misses his old backup JJ Barea, and would probably take Patty in a heartbeat. Oh ya, JJ Barea. Yet another "undersized" guard who exceled despite being only 5'9".
GS uses Iggy for their backup PG, so, yes can do. Plenty of other teams have SGs and SFs who can initiate the offense.
No one but a total rube thinks Patty is a PG. He can fill it up, though, and that will get you a nice paycheck in the NBA. If you can use a larger player to initiate the offense, Patty can play off him.
So what other larger player did Patty "play off" of last night? Diaw? Bellinelli? Joseph? Just curious.
