Lebron's such a little about this. He acts like he would own the Dunk Contest, and yet refuses to do it every year. Needs to put his money where his mouth is, or shut the up tbh.
I remember one year he said I am in it next year or announced it! It was at the dunk contest too. He next year doesn't bother showing, he is scared.

The only dunker that could defeat Lebron in a contest is Vince, tbh..
There's no reason for him to compete, tbh, more to lose than he has to gain..

I like Lebron as a player, but I don't think that statement is true. Lebron's dunks are extremely effective as a weapon in-game, but there's nothing particularly artful about the same tomahawk that he throws down six times per game. He's not interested in the aesthetics of the dunk, he's interested in the 2 points that are virtually guaranteed when he goes up to dunk, and that's admirable. But he wouldn't win the dunk contest. He plays it safe; goes for the points, not the risk.
I saw the video of Lebron dunking off the rebound from the wall, and while it was impressive, that's not a trick you can bring to the dunk contest. There are no walls to throw it off of. If there were, it would have been done many times before.
You're right that he stands a lot to lose in a dunk contest because he wouldn't win a dunk contest in the first place. He doesn't have a showboating personality, which is what's required to sell a dunk, and he doesn't execute dunks that have a potential to fail.
The dunk contest is for D-league prairie dogs now. Blake isn't going to touch it this year either. It's going to be a group of people no one gives a about, and they'll have to be introduced every attempt because no one will remember them from before.
