I don't think that explains it. I think it's more that Ginobili is the only competent perimeter defender in the second unit, and he's streaky. So long as Pop continues to play Beli and Mills at the same time, the Spurs will have defensive issues.

I dunno, Portland will play their starters 40mpg. If Pop insists on playing Beli and Mills, they will have to play a good number of minutes on Mo Williams and Lillard.
