Thread: We need to hire Mark Jackson
    Yesterday 11:40 PM #1
    thundergod

Jackson will probably get fired by Golden State.

Jackson was one of the most intelligent PGs in the history of the game. He was slow, small, and unathletic. But his basketball IQ was off the charts. He made Steph Curry from a pure shooter into one of the best playmaking guards in the league.

He also knows defense. His team is ranked in the top5 in defense. He brings a no non sense approach that we are missing. He wont be afraid to call out or bench Russ or KD if needed. And the players will respect him because he was an All star and a 14 year vet who would have won multiple les if it was not for Jordan.

    Toughness
    Discipline
    Accountability
    Basketball IQ

All the things we are missing with Brooks.

With Jackson Russ will flourish to the best PG in the league. With Russ athletic ability and Jacksons brain he will be unstoppable. After 6 years Brooks still cant harness Russ explosiveness.

With Jackson Durant will learn to be tougher, meaner, and more physical. If he could help the smallish Curry he can do wonders for KD.

And finally Jackson will play the guys who actually produce. Instead of playing the guys with the most years of service. Brooks thinks hes running a fuking carpenters uinon. He plays his favorites no matter how bad they are playing or how horrible the match up is.

I know everyone wants to blame Brooks. He certainly deserves blame. And KD and Russ have played below their standards. But we need to get to the REAL problem.

THE CHEAP POS OWNER. CLAY BENNETT

This Cheap POS bought the Thunder for $350M. Now its worth way over $600M (the lowly Bucks sold for $550M this year). He's making $50M on ticket sales and revenue share every year. They sell out months in advance. The guy is swimming in money. Lets remember that Clay Bennett did not even donate any money to hurricane relief. Even though he was a long time OK resident. He did not donate ANYTHING.......until KD pledged $1M. Then his cheap AZZ matched KD's donation. That more than anything should teach you what a cheap AZZ he is. Bennett is a Billionaire and was slow to help the community. KD is not even from OK and is worth 20x less than Clay but he stepped up first. PATHETIC

The pattern of cheapness at this point is undeniable.

We refused to pay Harden market value.
We refused to pay Kevin Martin market value (we could really use a 3FG shooter now)
      We refused to Anmesty Perkins
We refused to offer any veteran the Mid Level Exeception THE LAST 3 YEARS!
Guys like Mike Miller, Marco Belinelli, Jeff Teague, JJ Re , and Matt Barnes were all available but we only offered the veteran minimum

We refused to hire a REAL coach after we fired PJ.
Instead we went the cheap route and hired a guy who only has 4 years of assistant experience.
Instead of going on a coaching search they elevated Brooks to Coach because he wasn't asking for a big salary, just an opportunity.

We were at our peak in 2012. Since then we have been getting worse and worse. Because we are cheap. PERIOD. We are one or two players away from a championship but our owner is not willing to pay the extra money even though he's making hundreds of millions of dollars on the backs of KD, Russ, and Harden.

Bottom line is the FANS need to hold him responsible. He will continue to be CHEAP as long as you let him. IMO, there should have been mass protest after the Harden trade. But most OKC fans were drinking the kool aid and trusted the management blindly.

There should be pressure to Anmesty Perkins, to give free agents more than the minimum, to find a REAL COACH. But not enough fans are calling this out. If we don't win a le in the next 2 years Durant is gone. PERIOD. At that point he would have given his heart and soul for the team for NINE YEARS. But all the ownership did was sabotage his chances of winning a le by:

      1. Trading away the 3rd most important player on the team for draft picks that did nothing for 2 years.

      2. Refuse to anmesty Perkins and replace him with a real insider scorer.
      3. Keep a Pathetic Coach because he did not want to pay a coach with experience
      4. Not resign Kevin Martin
      5. Not sign any free agents for THREE YEARS
      6. Only offer minimum contract to Mike Miller
      7. We refused to trade any picks to get players that can help us NOW
      8. We refuse to trade any young players that are glued to the bench for players that can help us now

All those decisions are based on MONEY. not WINNING.

Its time to call out CLAY. If not KD will be gone in 2 years. Russ will be gone in 3 years. And we will be Cleveland 2.0

why can't he spend 180million like Nets owner
the owner makes millions in a business so I feel en led to get a piece of that
    Mental midgets

The funny part is if they hit some last second fluke shot, they would be saying the opposite about how great the owner is accepting black people and hiring such a good coach.

Is funny that this guy is asking for "one or two" more players...kmon now.
Durant, Russ and Ibaka are incredible, and Jackson must be the best backup PG in the league.
If any of those 3 players were playing for a contender (Miami, Spurs, Por, Indiana (?), LAC) that team would automatically become the favorite.

They are still in the POs, they didnt lose game 6.
Is not easy to be the best in the NBA, they have to learn that.
Durant missed a key FT yesterday...mister clutch...

All this and yet they sell out every game. Sounds like a winning formula to me. Most of the people complaining probably never spent a dime on the game, so they don't really have a vote.

ThunderGod basically hit the nail on the head. Amnestying Perkins and resigning Harden would have been the best move for OKC. They would have been under the Tax.

They up Harden for a one year rental in Martin, and their current backup C. It wasn't Presti fault. It was the cheap ass owners of the Thunder not willing to pay Harden lose out on 18 mil amnestying Perkins. 18mil to Harden, Durant, Westbrook & Ibaka locked in for 5 years together is a small price to pay considering I think this squad could have least won a championship or two.

Looks like they are going to be winning 0 now.

I don't have a problem with teams refusing to overpay for mediocre talent, but when you can lock up a core of Durant, Westbrook, Harden and Ibaka, you move heaven and earth to do so. Not amnestying Perkins was a huge mistake, made even more glaring by the recently announced jump in the cap by $5M. Sucks for OKC fans. Also, at some point an owner that is less of a cheapskate is going to offer Presti a job, and that's going to be pretty tough to turn down.
