Portland Trail Blazers guard Damian Lillard (0) hits the game winner against Houston.

The day after he hit perhaps the biggest shot in Trail Blazers history, Damian Lillard enjoyed a rare Saturday off in understated — and perhaps unexpected — fashion.

There was no elaborate celebration. No flamboyant party. He simply loafed around his house with family, watching movies and television.

“I did pretty much the same things I always do,” Lillard said, smiling.

As the rest of Rip City rejoiced in Lillard's dramatic buzzer-beater that carried the Blazers to a first-round victory over the Houston Rockets, he relaxed. As Portland buzzed, the unassuming Lillard lounged.

Actually, there was some buzz in the Lillard household — from his cell phone. A few moments before the All-Star point guard sat down at the podium to answer questions as part of the Game 6 postgame news conference, he gazed down at his phone and noticed that 60 percent of its battery remained. After the short session ended Friday night, he looked down at his phone in astonishment.

“When I got off the podium, it was dead,” he said.

Lillard guessed that he received roughly 350 text messages from countless people. It was such a staggering amount, he didn’t answer them all. On Saturday, he remained a popular man.

Friends, family, teammates and numerous players from across the NBA reached out to Lillard to offer congratulations on his memorable shot and the Blazers’ victory, which advanced the franchise to the second round of the playoffs for the first time in 14 years and ended the longest postseason drought in the NBA.

All the while, people sent Lillard videos of his game-winner from a surplus of views. In between movies and television, Lillard couldn't help but peek a time or two at the shot he called the “biggest shot of my life.”

“I watched it maybe 5 or 10 times,” Lillard said. “I’ve gotten so many videos of it sent to my phone. I watch it because every version is different. The thing I enjoy the most about it was just seeing everybody’s reaction. You got to see how bad our team wanted to win that game. And it wasn’t about me. You saw the coaches excited that we’re going to be moving on. My teammates running all over the floor. The crowd — I think a couple fans almost ran on the floor. I’m just happy we were able to get that series done. Because the last thing we wanted to do was go back to Houston.”

And while Lillard soaked it all in, relaxing and recovering from the hysteria, he mentally moved on. The moment is over. The second round awaits.

“It’s over with now,” he said. “It’s not like the moment is going to go away. We haven’t gone past the first round in 14 years, so people won’t forget it. But our team, we’ve got to move on from it, and we’ve still got games to play. Our goal wasn’t to make a big shot and be happy with that. I think, if anything, that made us want to get more done.”

Honest Q, ppl legit think this is the biggest shot in blazers history? To win a first round matchup when missing still had one more shot in game 7 to win the series? lol
I don't know blazers history, but if that's the biggest shot ever for them, that's kinda sad

There has only been a couple of series winning shots in the last 20 or 30 years. So yeah, I think it was a pretty big deal.

Technically, it was a game-winning, series clinching shot... Semantics, I know...

Great play by Portland and even better shot by Lilldard. I know it didn't happen on Memorial Day, but hopefully, this shot doesn't become their "Memorial Day Miracle" that carries them to the Finals and their second le.
