It really does describe Pop, and if you have followed his career from way back when he was an assistant coach here under Larry Brown, you would have seen a lot more of his soft and humorous side such as when he and Sean Elliott used to do really funny movie reviews on TV. They would needle each other all the time.
In those days before going on to become an assistant coach under Nellie, he was learning his trade.
Pop is a rare combination of "players coach" and "x's and o's coach" when so many coaches are just one or the other.
If the Spurs ever do win another championship, it is Pop who should win the MVP more so than anyone else IMHO.
