today's Pennywise
Clown: Boo
Me: haha...what the
Clown: I'm an evil clown. I'm going to kill you.
Me : Are you a gay evil clown? What's with your clothes?
Clown: I'm ing serious. You should be scared. Boo
Me : So...anyway... here's my lane assignments for the 100M
Tim Curry's Pennywise will never be matched.. They could have casted anybody.. Regardless of them choosing that ugly british as the new Pennywise, I love the movie and book enough to still be excited to see what they do w/ it..
Would have preferred they didn't make Pennywise look like Bozo though, tbh
I was excited to see what they were going to do with it at the movies as opposed to having to tone it down for TV. But now I'm wondering if it's just going to be some tricked up modernization. On a story that doesn't need all of that .
This tbh
Good point about the freedom of a theater release.. If they are smart they will follow the book and go more into detail because the movie cut a TON of vs the book.. Start the movie with the killing of that gay kid where Pennywise first reveals himself under the bridge vs Maryanne getting killed after riding her bike..
@ gots thinking this is scarier that Curry's
I agree. To me, the first section of the book was the scariest. I still remember the narration of the boy going down into the basement. Not that they can capture his writing on film. But they just need to try to tell the damn story and not go for just shock and sensory overload.
They should have just stuck with a damn regular looking clown. That's what made it creepier. They've created a clown that no one has ever seen.
I'm not sure this clarifies (I haven't read the book in 15+ years) but the director has been posting instagram photos from the set:

Is the clown going to be a woman in this one?
That's good to see the director has a creepy artistic vision for the movie based on those pics.. I don't recall 29 Neibolt St. being mentioned or shown in the movie, unless the one where the monster walks down the stairs and they took off on the bike was supposed to be it.
tbh
More like
Clown: Boo
Me: Huh? What's up?
Clown: Ever been to Olongapo?
Me: What are you stupid or something? I'm 387 1/3 pounds of twisted seals.
Clown: Know where the nearest playground is?
Me: *BOOM*
Clown: /dead *shot in head*
I can't remember... in the miniseries did they show the part at the end where the male Losers run the train on Beverly?
Is Pennywise Flagg? Or is he just one of the creatures?
no, but they serve the same purpose. It's one of the creatures from the Todash darkness trying to destroy the beams.
oh yeah? you mean more like this
Clown : Boo
Me : Hi Clown. (loud fart) Is that your mom I smell?
Clown: Grrrrrr...I'm scary...yep...475 pounds of toasted boil.
Me : Yeah? Well you look like a ing re .
Clown : Grrrrr (pulls out a dirty diaper)
Me : Have you met my two friends? Pain (hold up right hand) and Clown Beater (hold up left foot)
Me and Clown : you do the hokey pokey and you turn yourself around
Clown : I gotta go
Me : Hey Clown
Clown : (turns) yeah
Me : (shooting double bird) Go yourself.
Think he'll make some sort of appearance in the Dark Towers movie(s)?
I'm kind of on the fence about whether or not I should be excited for that one.
Beverly wasn't the 12 year old she was in the book
Who knows, but I wouldn't think so. I like that Ron Howard isn't directing it, and that King posted on twitter that Roland has the horn this time, so complaints about following the story exactly aren't really valid since it's the next time around.
As ty as this new Pennywise looks, I think his outfit is closer to the novel than Curry's
