This would seem to be a European problem, primarily, IMO.
The economist has been following this fairly closely, since much of what is going on there is because of trade deals, and the political triangulation that entails.

i saw some do entary on russian brides and it's sad because some of them get all the payments, have their flights booked and then don't show up at the airport.
a lot of the time it's a huge scam. but that service attracts a lot of assholes too who end up beating those girls out of frustration later on if they do show up.
