Retired seven-time All-Star Tracy McGrady worked out with Los Angeles Lakers star Kobe Bryant late this summer in a Southern California gymnasium, testing the preparedness of his body for a possible NBA comeback attempt.
"Yes, I was working out with K.B. to get in shape and see how my body feels," McGrady told Yahoo Sports in an email Tuesday night.
Bryant and McGrady, 35, worked out three days a week for a period of time in August, several sources, including McGrady, told Yahoo.
If he had stayed for the 2013-2014 season, he would be a champion today.
Having said that, he is probably pissed with Pop for not giving him a chance to replace that awful Manu in game 6. In one of the TNT open court episode he got mentioned that he truly felt that he could have contributed if he played more in the Finals.
T-Mac did not score a single point in the entire 2013 playoffs but he still can be an effective playmaker/passer but Pop still decide to ride with Awful Manu in that dreadful game 6.

Gonna take this thread seriously for a bit.
Wish he could have gotten a ring in 2013. Would have welcomed him back last year. Probably has less than nothing left in the tank now.
I wish he had the chance to replace Pop during those moments so he didn't sub Duncan out.
Id like to see him on a contender, like some people here I didn't think he looked done two years ago...
McGrady's FG% in garbage minutes for the Spurs in 2012-13 playoffs - 0%. To the idiots who think he should have replaced Ginobili.
A full season would def be good for him, if he has anything left. He probably didn't know the system well enough, on such short notice in 2013, so he wasn't very aggressive. I still think he could have contributed, but it's over now. I would welcome him back definitely.
I only wished that McGrady got given a chance to prove his veteran clutch, much like Horry.
Instead Ginobili's heroics ensured Miami's game 6 win
Black, ball hog and American? ST will support him 200% and say he wouldve made the difference for us, despite Ginobili single handedly carrying Spurs to les 3 and 5
Yes cause Duncan wasn't on the team in 2007 and 2014.
wish he did not have those injuries, he was a stud who could have been one of the all time greats.
I wish he had gotten that ring as well, he deserves one as much as anyone else who never got one, with the exception of Malone, Stockton and Payton. Plus we would have 6 les instead of 5.
how the does Mcgrady deserve a ring. couldnt even get out of round 1.
please
but that finals patch on his jersey...
Dude didn't look done to me, Pop just didn't play him enough and when he did shoot it looked like he was trying to hard, perhaps uncomfortable since it was a very late season signing. If Tmac wants back, and passes physicals, why not? He's also only 35. He was only a Spur for a blink of an eye
