I worked at an electronics/appliance repair shop around this time. Most of these VCR's were cheaply built pieces of . We were constantly having to clean the heads on them and the gears were always ing up on the tape loaders. The older top loaders were a lot more reliable but damn, they weighed like fifty pounds.

Computers were such a ing ripoff... and bear in mind that these prices are obviously not adjusted for inflation.
