Taking a perfectly Republican stance gives Abbott victory. He did not make any big gaffes, so he wins.
One talks Republican in a Republican State. This should not be called losing, it's the recipe for winning handily. That's my opinion.
it's an opinion piece, but can anybody refute the points WD supposedly beat AButtHead with?

This.
All Abbott had to do was not step in it. Mission Accomplished.
That's just the opinion of a liberal hack. According to legitimate news outlets she didn't fair so well...
Wendy Davis Melts Down, Talks Over Moderator During Debate
http://www.breitbart.com/Breitbart-T...ng-Greg-Abbott
I didn't watch the debate but I have a hard time believing she did anything to gain support from undecideds. Her entire campaign is basically still a filibuster, relying far too much on emotional touch points and narcissistic self-victimization. It's every bit as light on real ideas, and every bit as insulting to the intelligence, as most Republican campaigns. She's making it way too easy for Abbott to take the positive high road. He can let her just stand in the corner and sound like the shrill whiner. I find her unlistenable.
I'd love to have a liberal in the Governor's seat but I absolutely hate her campaign.
Lol @ brietbart being a legitimate news outlet

Lel abortion barbie
I would agree. Talking over the moderator to the extent she did seemed like a bad play, IMO. I was listening to that and it made me wince.
She's gotta go overboard Imo. Just being competent isn't going to cut it against Abbott running in entrenched mode.
Dude, wtf is up with the way abortion barbie talks?
At least she could, given the chance, WALK the talk.
It's that big hairy mole. It drags her lip down on that side.
it's pretty bad when a MILFish bleach blonde in Texas can't beat an old guy in a wheelchair.
I would agree. Makes sense to shake things up.
Honestly, I thought both of them sounded stiff and politician-y.
Kinda makes me wish for an occasional straight answer. Already know who I am voting for anyway, but still...
Idk, I didn't watch any of the debate. Abbot is the next Gov so I don't see any point in paying attention to the race.
Just wanted to see boo complain about biased breitbart after posting his own completely biased source.
Oh c'mon, there are rednecks willing to give the cripple a blow job...
lol. There was a debate?
I found a transcript on cspan, but the speaker of each section isn't identified.
After a lackluster debate performance, Greg Abbott is launching negative TV ads against Wendy Davis, but experts in Texas suggest that Republican’s negative shift might be a sign that the governor’s race is tightening.
On TWC’s Capitol Tonight, Harvey Kronberg, editor of theQuorum Report, suggested that Greg Abbott is going negative because of the success of the Democratic campaign to register more Democrats. Kronberg raised questions about what Abbott’s internal polling is showing.
Kronberg said, “When you register people to vote for a specific election they actually do have a pretty high proclivity to vote – and you start seeing that the mechanics of what the Democrats are doing may come together and that may explain why all of a sudden Greg Abbott ran his first negative commercial. It raises questions as to what their own internal polling is showing.”Ross Ramsey of the Texas Tribune also raised questions about what Abbott’s internal polls are showing:
Ramsey said, “You wonder what his internal polls are showing. Usually you don’t attack an opponent who is behind you. There is no reason to take any notice of them or to raise their name ID.”The Abbott campaign consistently claims that they have an insurmountable lead, but they won’t release the polling to the public. Wendy Davis gained momentum after her debate performance on Friday. The Republican candidate had to bus supporters in to create a fake show of support for his candidacy before the debate.
The decision by the Abbott camp to run negative ads suggests that the election for governor is getting tighter. Candidates who are way ahead never would take the chance of alienating voters with negative advertising. Negative ads are used when an opponent has a higher favorability rating than the candidate.
Abbott’s polling probably shows a post-debate bounce for Davis and a tightening of the race.Something is up in the election for governor. The Republicans are acting worried as a Wendy wave could be building in Texas.

GOP strategist gets scolded on Texas TV for calling rape, incest victims ‘minor issues’
GOP strategist Matt Mackowiak shot back that a ban on abortion was “the law of the land” WTF?because Davis had not been successful with her attempt to filibuster it.
“Texas is a pro-life state. We can get into minor issues that are one percent or two percent the problem,” he explained. “But ultimately, Texas is a strong pro-life state. Abbott would love to fight this campaign on that issue alone from here on out but Wendy knows that’s not strategically wise.”
“That’s the first time I’ve heard rape or incest called a ‘minor issue,’” Angle interrupted.
“It’s minor in terms of the percentage of cases. That’s all I’m saying,” Mackowiak replied.
“A victim of rape or incest is not a minor problem,” Angle insisted.
