thursday night games need their own thread so their quality doesn't taint the rest of the games. tbh.
Relatively mild week in the NFL, crime-wise. Even the media seems to be letting go of the DV stuff. Biggest issue is probably the new starting QBs (Bortles, Glennon, Bridgewater), the return of Palmer and the tenuous position of several other QBs (Tannehill and Smith). It will be interesting to see what happens.
Here's this week's distribution map:

Typical for Cen-Tex. I miss out on a game of the week to get Buffalo and Houston. The other games seem decent, though.

thank god for sunday ticket
oh and LOL "home game" in London. that should count as a road game for both teams
Feel bad for bridgewater. He could have been eased in while bein able to hand it off to Peterson
I'm excited about the game this weekend. The Saints can get back to 2-2 after giving the first 2 games of the season away, and then they get Tampa at home next weekend, which should be an automatic win. Big game for them Sunday night.

He's imo the only one who doesn't need to be eased in. He is a low upside reliable game manager and as such he doesnt need time to learn the offense since it will be 5 plays at most tge whole game.
yeah but a game manager's best friend is having a monster running game
Truer words were neverr spoken.
You put any young QB in third and 8 is a whole only game that putting him in third and 2. That is what a running/lack of running games does.
yeah, the former is what carr has been dealing with. as of right now oakland is the worst rushing team in the league, statistically speaking. its why Carr has looked better under the eye test than he has with box score production. if the raiders can get the ground game moving just a bit, it should open up passing windows for more intermediate/deep shots
Can only add...yep, ya nailed it! A stud running game a must for young QB's (experienced QB's have just that...experience)
the raiders struggling ground game is inexcusable. the entire offseason was aimed at getting the ground game going.
- replacing Veldheer with Donald Penn. while Penn has had ups and downs, he has always been a mauling run blocker
- signing Austin Howard. he was an above average RT with the Jets, and especially shined in the ground game. however we signed him and moved him to right guard, where the idea was playing guard would highlight his run blocking. thus far the experiment has not worked, and i think they need to consider moving him back to his natural position of RT where he has had NFL success
- drafting Gabe Jackson. a 330 road grader, starting immediately at left guard
- signing maurice jones-drew and re-signing darren mcfadden
We barely addressed the mediocre receiving core, the only acquisition being James Jones. By adding all the pieces to the ground game while largely leaving the receiving core as it was, they clearly intended on building a power running team, but instead are struggling so bad in the run that they are forced to be throwing the ball with inferior weapons.
If you go by total rushing yards, chicago has one fewer yard. If you go by yds/att, san diego is by far the worst(albeit vs 3 top rushing d's and running out the clock vs buffalo) Oakland is the 8th worst there.
i was also considering that derek carr had a 41 yard rush on a read-option![]()
Dude, slow down on trying to correct everyone, ok? The point was the Raiders suck at running the ball right now, ok? You seem stuck on...."well actually"...cool that , got it?
He said statistacally. I agree the Raiders are but but there are others at least as bad.
I don't know why everyone is acting as if they're not watching this Thursday Night Game. Cousins looking shaky early on, Eli capitalizing off of good field position and Jennings doing work.
Redskins defense confused by WRs running straight down the field
Redskins OL can't help themselves, holding left and right.
We suck tbh
