a good defense can always contained or stoppages during the critical moments of a game

the same cant be said about the offensive team trying to stop a defensive team on the counter attack...

there are teams who put up big numbers but also give up big numbers on the other end, example were the nash run n gun suns, could care less if ur scoring 120ppg when the other team also posts around the same ppg way above their norm

not when the opposing team plays just as good offense and a defense that's 10 times better than yours.

It's like a skirmish between an artillery brigade and an armored brigade of the same strength (same numbers of men and weapon units), which side would you choose?

Considering how easily it is to draw a foul, yes I think it is true. In the NFL & MLB, it is not the case.

As a team you have to do everything you can to strengthen your squad. When your offense is already excellent it is very hard to make any significant improvements to it, then one hour of defensive training would deliver you the same amount of overall benefit 10 hours of offensive training makes. It's just like, for a high school student who is damn good at math but sucks at everything else, the best strategy for him is to mug up on other subjects that are not math. You always have to fix the shortest stave of a barrel in order for it to hold as much water as possible imho.
