And the starting five are getting exposed. Pretty ugly sight tbh. Going back to 2012(maybe 2011 too) we've had a top five bench, including last year where we had the best bench in the league. In 2012/2013, it was a luxury, but in 2014 we depended on them heavily to win us games. The starting five would come out and get blasted often, and the bench would come in and win the game/give us momentum..

Now that the bench is no longer what it once was, I'm not sure our starting unit can turn it around after playing poorly for the second straight season. At least last year they were great on defense, this year they're bad on both sides of the ball.

The bench will be fine. Getting Tony out much quicker would help.

The starting 5's offense has always been sub-par, it's expected with Duncan/Splitter clogging the lane and Parker being unable to shoot 3s(until this year), but the defense was always top 2-3 in the NBA with the Duncan/Splitter/Green/Leonard combination..

Splitter's decline has really hurt both units, as he was also a key pick&roll player with the bench for long stretches, too..

But ya, Spurs' survived Parker's decline last year with Manu playing so well, but they can't survive when both guys are struggling, especially without Diaw's playmaking..

The team is finally getting healthy, and one of the natural results from that will be the bench unit and rotation solidifying. On a team and system where chemistry is key, it's not surprising that injuries and Pop's usual early-season mad scientist routine have led to subpar results.

    There's still time.

Besides Tim most games I thoroughly agree, he has been our most consistent guy out there and he is 38.
