Out in the parking lot, dozens of buses filled with more evacuees are waiting to unload. Bryant says Harris County Tax Assessor Paul Bettencourt said as many as 18,000 people may be on the grounds by noon.

A doctor told Bryant some people have died on those buses.

On the Astrodome floor, people sleep in cots, some getting real rest for the first time since taking shelter in New Orleans' Superdome. But a few have been arrested for fighting over those cots.

Volunteers are bringing badly needed supplies to the volunteers, but when they pull into the parking lot, they are often swarmed by the desparate.

It's about 10:30 p.m. and Eric is reporting that people continue to flow into the Astrodome.

It's been less than a day and already the crowds are beginning to take their toll on this gigantic dome turned shelter.

The toilets are overflowing and when Eric went to the restroom he found out only one toilet was flushing.

No water, supplies, shelter. People camped out in the parking lot outside the shelters waiting for someone to leave so they could get into the dome. Bless the people of Harris County for trying, but the immensity of this situation is overwhelming State and local resources.

Thousands are headed for SA, many are already here. Is this what we can expect?

Are you rooting now for bad things to happen, dan? It's as if you wait for unfortunate events to occur so that you can try to make some obtuse point about something, though you don't ever really come out to say what.

These people have been through a that you can't even imagine from behind the keyboard as you search the internet. Their problems are real. I suspect you'd be pretty damned grouchy and petulent if you had just seen the end of all of your material belongings, suffered through days of miserable conditions in a ravaged city, hadn't had much food or water, hadn't had any shower or running toilets, and hadn't had a private moment for the last week. It's not unusual that things are bad where they are.

Hopefully, as the agencies assisting in the evacuation and sheltering of these people get a grip on the enormity of the situation, they'll be better able to assist in offering relief. For now, though, everyone involved is doing the best they can with a situation that is unprecedented in modern American history.

Are you trying to suggest that there's someone to blame for bad things happening in Houston, just as you've tried to suggest that there's someone to blame for the bad things that are happening in New Orleans?

If so, just come out and say it.

If not, shut up and offer your brilliance in finding some way to help!

Nope. Much easier to start throwing bombs in online forums while bodies are still floating in the Big Easy.
