How about the people in the outlying parishes.."They are all so poor, and SO WHITE" Where was CNN for that?
We were discussing that before....it's buried in the Official Hurricane thread somewhere...

Irony is hearing this, then hearing CNN's continual parade of people bashing Bush for being racist.
Such is life on the left, I guess.
I haven't been following whatever argument y'all have already had about this, but here's my take. You can't really judge a couple sentences if you don't know their context. I'm not saying it's impossible Wolf Blitzer said something incredibly stupid, but it's possible he made that comment in the context of discussing how the issue of race and class has been raised. A lot of people have been wondering out loud if relief and rescue operations would've gotten under way more quickly if this had hit a rich/white part of the country. All I'm saying is give Wolf a little credit, because in all the years I've been watching him, I've never heard him say anything remotely racist or insensitive.
Actually, completely off-topic, but it applies to the news coverage of hurricane Katrina... I remember reading an interview with him several years when the issue of how graphic should television coverage be in times of war or disaster and how will it affect children, etc. And he said he never censored what his kids watched because there are horrible things happening in our world and our children ought to know about them and ought to be horrified by them. Anyhoo... thought someone else might find it interesting.
Yeah, it's me again, but I want to make sure noone misses this. My husband just told me he saw this exact segment as it happened live and, as I suspected, the segment was addressing the issue of race and whether race was making a difference in the rescue efforts.
Hmm so poor, so black? Thats lame. How can anyone be so black?
Leading question...
Folks, watch all of the Cable News magnates...CNN gives you the liberal view; FOX gives you the Conservative view (except for Geraldo and Shepard Smith, both Camera s), MSNBC a bit liberal as well, but they have added Tucker Carlson for balance.
Be your own brain gatekeeper. Watch and discern and have an informed opinion (which really comes from none of these people). Hannity is just as bad a Colmes. Anderson Cooper is just as bad as Bill O'Reilly. Greta is just as bad a Chris Matthews. etc...etc...
The aforementioned individuals strive to do one thing...sell you products that 1) are overpriced and 2) are being looted in NOLA.
Be an INDEPENDENT THINKER!
A free tip from your Uncle Jim....
Or, as Orson Scott Card would say, "Thou shalt think!"
damn that sucks for Wolf...
God forbid we should think....for ourselves.
