http://espn.go.com/nba/story/_/id/68...charged-murderPolice say former NBA player Javaris Crittenton has been charged with murder after a woman was shot on an Atlanta street.
Police spokesman Carlos Campos says police have secured a murder warrant for the arrest of Crittenton, who played at Georgia Tech, in connection with the shooting death of 22-year-old Jullian Jones on Aug. 19. Campos said Crittenton is not in custody and is wanted.
Police said Jones was walking with a group of people on the city's southwest side when she was shot.
Investigators say they don't believe the woman was the intended target. Campos said the motive appears to be retaliation for a robbery in April, in which Crittenton was a victim.
Crittenton most recently played in the NBA with the Washington Wizards and was involved in a gun altercation with Gilbert Arenas. He is on the roster of the NBDL's Dakota Wizards.
Crittenton didn't play last season because of an ankle injury. He was given a 38-game suspension by the NBA after he and Arenas acknowledged bringing guns into the locker room following a dispute stemming from a card game on a team flight.
Crittenton pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor gun charge on Jan. 25, 2010, and received probation. He wasn't re-signed by the Wizards.
The Charlotte Bobcats signed Crittenton to a non-guaranteed contract before last season but he was waived Oct. 15.
Crittenton was the 19th overall pick by the Los Angeles Lakers in 2007. He played little with Los Angeles and was sent to Memphis in the Pau Gasol deal his rookie year. He was traded to Washington in December 2008.
Crittenton averaged 5.3 points and 1.8 assists in 113 NBA games.

To paraphrase the legendary Dr. House/DazedAndConfused/Jeff Drumms:
"Memphis is getting a solid rookie with loads of potential in Crittenton."
Broom stick, 2 fingers, pencils, fists etc.
one less junglebunny to worry about. them kids will be raised by their grandmom like all spook children are. blessing in disguise, tbh.
He probably soiled his pants realizing that his fake thug act could have taken a really bad turn dealing with that guy.
If only these savages would take some shooting lessons they'd stop killing women and kids on the street.
Asshole still at large. They better catch him before he takes the easy way out and kills himself.
s gonna nig
While I like Billy Mays, any infomercial enthusiast worth his salt knows Ron Popeil is the greatest pitchman of all time. Billy Mays has indeed captured the hearts and minds of the Web 2.0 generation with his enthusiasm and quotable one liners, but Popeil's ingenuity with such items like spray-on hair in a can and his food dehydrator surpass anything Mays ever accomplished in the infomercial world.
The GOAT. And no one comes close. Not Mays, Jack Lalaine, Tony Robbins, or that moron with the Shamwow.
CROFL from NBA player to soon to be locked up murderer. Nice transition son.![]()
the cops ain't getting him though, will sneak out of the country and live the rest of his life as a badass fugitive
It's a damn shame that there's a lockout. Otherwise, the Nuggets would sign Crittenton right now.
I was about to say the same thing.
This is the guy every Lakerfan used to justify the Gasol trade at first. "Crittendon is a starting caliber PG in the future! Mike Conley's starting job is in trouble!"
Lakers fans had no ing clue who Marc Gasol was other than "the ty fat brother of Pau". Of course Memphis gets lucky and he turns out to be a good player, and now that somehow justifies the trade that, when it was conceived, had Javaris ing Crittenton as the prized piece for Memphis![]()
O noes we made a good trade.Sick burn
