Rumor in the street is that Coulson will return for the avengers II, tbh dude's an invaluable member the SHIELD (or the Marvels) can't afford to lose. If you hold a popularity contest here among all characters (including avengers and SHIELD agents, and some villains), Coulson will probably finish top 3 along with IronMan and Natasha imho

Not saying Coulson is a badass but he always seems to have a hidden sense of humour, dude's quietly amusing and often makes you want to laugh even without showing any laughable remark. Dude's like a feather in your armpit, you can't tell how/where he is funny but you still laugh anyway because of him

Clark Gregg described the setup in the post-Avengers world, where ordinary people have suddenly become aware of all the extraordinary beings around them. What Joss Whedon said at the end was very encouraging to those of us who want connections to the films: "The series takes place now. The series takes place where we are in the Marvel Universe. And hopefully there'll be some -- a little weaving in and around the movies that are coming up."
