they need to bust out those Q,U,X, and Z names.
It's easy - Quinten, Ulysses, Xavier and Zack.

According to the National Hurricane Center, the historical averages for a hurricane season are 10 named storms, six hurricanes and two major hurricanes. Those numbers have been met or exceeded this season, which doesn't end until November 30.
The largest number of named storms ever recorded was 21 in 1933, a record that will be broken if just seven more storms develop in the next 12 weeks. And if that happens, the hurricane center will run out of names for the first time since it adopted the system of assigning names to storms in 1953.
The letters Q, U, X, Y and Z aren't used, because few names begin with those letters, so the 21st and last name on this year's hurricane list is Wilma. After that, Greek letters will be used to designate storms, beginning with Alpha.

What they need to do is just use X, Y and Z. And in case they're still short, they can start the alphebetical order with the second letter after Z.
My suggestions?
Xavier
Yasamin
Zacharias
Zelda
Zipporah
Zoe
Zuben
oh, I forgot the "Y".
There's "Yul" as in Brenner.. and then there's......hmmm.....
I never understood why they had to name them in the first place. Why not just number the bas s.
Hurricane Quincy?
Just doesn't sound threatening to me.
I'm pretty sure that record is going down.
I wanted a place to post this picture because it is flat out amazing. This is the picture of a low pressure system - known as a tropical wave - that came off Africa this week. The system was very well developed, and has continued to develop pressure wise but has no convection with it because of the dust it is carrying.
It brought a crap load of dust off the coast with it, but it still looks strong as . Anyhow, this thing would probably already be a major hurricane if not for the dust. Just another indicator of how crazy this season is.

That's was my first thought...only I was thinking Uma.
That's kind of a no-brainer...but if they're not going to use the same name twice, within a couple of years they will run out.
But how many years will the names even get that high?![]()
We've been in an upswing of Hurricane activity for some time now. Whether or not this year is a peak or we will see an equal amount of storms next year is impossible to tell, but I would imagine that the coming years will see a higher than average amount of storms regardless.
Naming a hurricane after a black woman is racist. [/jesse jackson]
Just naming hurricanes after white women is also racist.
If all of us are racists and you are not, than you are racist for calling us racist.
You think I fear this???
