No
My friend is a Knicks fan and he brought up a rather interesting deal he would accept. Shumpert can create his own shot and has a pretty high ceiling IMO. We'd lose two great role players, however.
Thoughts?
No
since when shumpert can create his own shot?
Green's better than Shumpert, or at least better for what the Spurs want out of their two-guard. I wouldn't trade Danny for Iman straight up. Diaw being added it makes it comical.
Green is better than Shumpeter imo, and Diaw is an extremely versatile player most teams don't have. Shumpert isn't that great and is overrated due to the NY media hype and stupid haircut. His defense is pretty good but Green's isn't far off and his offensive value to our system is way higher than Shumpert. Both of them for Shumpert is just ridiculous and proves that he is massively overrated
Shumpert is a defensive guard who the Knicks have tried to play at the point with mixed results.
His outside shooting is mediocre and his greatest asset, defending point guards and shooting guards, is already covered somewhat by Danny Green.
His ballhandling is ok but his court vision is suspect. With Parker, Ginobili, and even Belinelli, his ballhandling skills would be somewhat redundant.
Green isn't as good a defender as Shumpert, but it's close. Shumpert is the better ballhandler, but that isn't a needed skill on the Spurs. On the other hand, Green is so much better at shooting than Shumpert, it's ridiculous.
Disregarding salary issues, Shumpert for Green straight up? The Spurs might consider it, but I doubt they pull the trigger. Shumpert for both Green and Diaw? They might even laugh the Knicks off the call.
What is the point of this thread? The answer is a flat "no".

Another joke thread.
you assholes. What, so I'm not allowed to share a hypothetical thread without being called stupid or some other inconsiderate .
Some of you may need to find an occupation outside of these forums.
getting butthurt. but yea green>>>>>shumpert
Was this for real?
I thought you were being sarcastic.
Would not give up Green for Shumpert.
Not Diaw either.
IMHO.
That is a negative. Shumpert has potential, but not enough to give up Green or Diaw.
"I was just trolling you guys! Baited!!"
I see his takes are just as abysmal here as they are downstairs and in the NFL forum![]()
Shumpert isn't bad, but Green has upside still. Danny is a go to dribble move away from being a legit scoring threat.
Random thoughts some dream of or think of it in their mind and then post it for some reason even though it will never happen! I will since we are dreaming will think of a good trade! One that will never happen and will improve us! JOE DUMARS IN HIS PRIME FOR GREEN!!!!!!!! I might make a thread of it since it is as far way from reality as this is and will never happen except this will make us alot better!
Shumpert is younger, is the better athlete/defender and has a higher ceiling. Although I think Green has shown that he can be an elite role player. Also, Shumpert has been injured so I'm not sure how that will affect him in the future. I feel like sticking with Danny is the better option because you already know what you're gonna get. Keeping Diaw would also be really nice.
It would be wrong to just dismiss a deal like this if it is offered though.
Bingo. This is a buzz phrase that fans use when they want to prop their players, but very few players can actually do it. You'd essentially be trading Diaw and a 3 and D guy (Green) for another 3 and D guy (Shumpert). If Shumpert didn't play in NY, You'd never have heard of him.
It's amazing how being in a big market can make players seem sooo much better than they really are to the average fan. Green was a monster last year, I'd take him over Shumpert 10/10.
Dont even think about trading Green! Shumpert?...Well...how long before he gets injured...again.
Plus Diaw!! No words for this addition.
Now for Melo...thats a little more balanced.
