    The article starts out saying that Aldridge would be the biggest signing in Spurs history. Wrong. In 2000 they signed a free agent named Tim Duncan. Semantics, maybe. But the Spurs were in a similar situation to where Portland is now, and Orlando came courting Tim. Duncan chose San Antonio. And he will make sure Aldridge knows the reasons why he wanted to play here. If those things matter to Aldridge, he'll be in silver and black next season. If they don't, there was never a chance.
