To ask him to retire when the spurs are already tied up trying to sign Aldridge is just stupid.
the spurs will be able to sign Manu at low price and we'll get a legitimate playmaker.

I think Manu is really conflicted on his choices. He is a proud man anf if he feels that he is being perceived as a hasbeen that cannot help the team, he would not want to come back. Of course, the majority of us knoe that he can still be productive. He remains the best playmaker on the team.
He is proud. He did not want to come off the bench when he knew that he was much better than Turkeglu, than Finlry, than Barry, than Green, but he had too much respect for pop to rebel like others would have done. He was not proud of the 6th man trophy because he did not think of himself that way.
I think it hurt when pop did not have him at the end of some of the clipper games. If pop had not asked tim and him to come back, it would have been an easier decision to retire with some dignity.
