All of what you said is basically true.
So yeah, it feels great rocking free agency for once. But stop acting like some Redskins fans here!
We don't have won anything yet.
We are staaaaaaacked, but keep in mind, that is is more or less the following tradeoff:
Splitter (great defender vs. Aldridge, Dirk types, big body)
Baynes (big body that knew the system)
Marco (cold blooded shooter, that knew the system)
CoJo (energy PG, that knew the system)
...and maybe Ayers (don't know, probably didn't know the system)
for
Aldridge (All Star, perfect fit on paper)
West (tough guy, pefect fit on paper)
So it's not like we didn't give up anything. We get smaller (which is ok in todays NBA) and have yet to get some back court help. Most importantly the new guys have to learn the system first (thats why it would have been great to keep at least Baynes or CoJo somehow). Remember the Dallas teams with Dirk, Stack, Jamison and so on? Great on paper but too much turnover from year to year.
Furthermore there are other teams suiting up stacked teams as well.
OKC probably will be back in the mix again, Cleveland is as stacked as we are and has the easy path, GS will be back in the mix, Clippers got worse (^^).
Don't get me wrong! The last few days have been great and I still have a boner. I just don't want us to become one of those fanbases, that look silly for the wrong reasons (celebrating championships during offseason). Always loved the "built not bought"-tag, which I don't think can be shred in only 3 days after centuries of building not buying. It would be nice to be a possible free agent destiny starting now, but not for the expence of drafting and developing own talent.
All of what you said is basically true.
Don't tell me to calm down.
You think any of us think this is a lock?
Like we haven't learned our lesson years and years ago?![]()
This. Plus what the fans think has no bearing on the results of the season. The Spurs are professionals, and they know what it takes to get it done. Let fans be fans.
Right, we got it, paper and court are different environments, grizzled fans know this
but we are just happy right now
lets enjoy this! this moment, one moment in time
I wont calm down, we are gonna win it all I swear this is just the beginning not 1 not 2 not 3 not 4....
I just hope age doesn't hurt us too much and we can play defense. Our ball-handling/guard play is a bit thin imo
😄😄😄👍👍👍

We have the right to to be excited and happy... we have 5 rings, one that was recently won. If we didn't win anything in the last 10-15 years then yes the fanbase would have to chill.. but this isn't the case tbh...
Season tickets are probably a hot commodity. Will be an interesting year if injury doesn't screw it up.
We are the favorites now and I ing love it tbh.
better than watching your team turn into has beens
Splitter was mostly useless, save the flash-in-the pan in the 2013-2014. He was terrible in the 2013 playoffs and obviously didn't do jack last year. If he was the answer, there's no way Pop would have dealt him.
CoJo and Baynes were nice guys, decent players, but didn't see the court at all outside the regular season.
Belinelli is the only one that really stings. Hopefully we can pickup a legit 3-point specialist who can replace his shooting.
the main point is that we are not done once duncan and manu are gone. We will still have a franchise big, one of the biggest talents in the league and the best 3 and d player in the league. those who hoped we'd be in the lottery soon, are bound to suicide

Go Spurssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss sssssssssss go!
Welcome to Spurstalk..............
My condolences. I'm sorry for that.
On another note I assume ticket prices are going up.
When RC and the great Pop retire,
Tim and Manu can take their places......
Tim seems to be good at interpersonal relations and recruiting, he would make an excellent GM
Manu's intelligence and leadership is perfect for the head coaching jobm or at least an Assistant Coach
