He was a Spur in 94-95. That would hardly be ring chasing.

Sad. He was a great player. Relentless.

I got to see him play in person with the Rockets vs the Spurs.

One of the all time greats and somewhat underrated, he did it all for years and had a lot of success including 3 MVP awards.

As far as pro athletes dying young, it supports the my belief that they have been full of chemicals, doping for years and it has long term health effects. Steroids have been widespread since at least the 70's and I think nearly all pro athletes today are juicing.

Moses was a favorite of mine. I agree he is underrated. For some reason when great centers are mentioned his name is often omitted. He was as good as Hakeem and maybe Shaq. Truthfully, he was probably better than David too.

Pro football destroys players brains, shortening their lives. Pro basketball players are just tall, and statistically, taller people die younger. Their hearts have to work harder to circulate blood longer distances.

They have the giraffe syndrome thus their hearts get overworked much more than your average person.

Isn't Malone the one who famously said Fo, Fo, Fo and then nearly swept the playoffs in 1983?

Isn't the OP a total schmucky moron?

I know he was an all time great. Better than the Admiral. But by his Spurs career he was washed up

Besides height and steroids, many pro athletes take retirement way too seriously. They might play golf and travel the world the first year or so after retirement before spending the rest of their days on a a reclined sofa watching TV and eating popcorn, pizza, fried chicken, potato chips, peanuts, and drinking booze -- all at the same time. That lifestyle really does a quick number on your heart no matter who you are.

Been a lot of former NBA players dying in their 50's lately. I don't think it's the ball; I think it's too many cheeseburgers and boos.
