    James Harden > Kawhi Leonard
Eh, its close enough to the point I'd take Leonard due to his younger age/position.

Harden is a regular season God, tbqh. All those freebies win them a lot of games that a team like the Grizzlies would lose.

They won it last year with Howard and other missing half the year and with him still hurt and not 100%, they should win it again unless the Spurs and Grizz are really good, which isn't an impossibility.

Regardless of his real status in the WCF, he missed half the regular season games last year. That is fact.

    Is this a joke?

They barely eked it out last season, with the Spurs having constant injuries themselves and clearly bearing worn down from three straight deep runs.

As the off season wore on, people spent so much time looking for flaws on the Spurs, that they've now talked themselves into them being not that good.

It's also been decided that, because it's going to take time to integrate the new pieces, that automatically means they'll be a lot of losing in the process.

Somehow, the most hyped team of the off season, is back in their familiar position of being underrated.

    - Rockets had a ton of injuries last season, too

    - Rockets are a team built for the regular season, they're always playing for the regular season le, and the only key player that needs integration is Lawson, which shouldn't be that difficult IMO(especially if he agrees to come off the bench)

    - I'm not down on the Spurs, I think it's going to take them a little bit to mesh during the season, though, and Pop is going to be ultra-conservative with the big 3's minutes..more importantly, not only are they integrating new players, but they're going to be changing a huge part of their system for a player that will have the most usage on the team..even with Pop and Duncan running the show, it's going to take a bit of time

Going from the system of the 2011-2014 Spurs to a system built around mid-range shooting forwards(both Aldridge and Kawhi) is not going to be easy IMO..

They also have to figure out Parker's new role as he transitions his career path, which could take some time, as well..

    - I don't think they'll be losing "a lot", but they play in the West, you don't have to lose "a lot" to finish with a 4 seed, rather than a 2 seed..

I know, that's why I said "Spurs having constant injuries themselves". Less publicity didn't make them any less important.

The Spurs are built for the regular season too . . . they just happen to be built for the playoffs as well.

It is going to take time to mesh, in terms of being in peak form, but that form is only needed to beat fellow elite teams in a series. In random regular season games, they should be able to beat plenty of run of the mill teams along the way.

Picking the Rockets to win the division is defensible; what's not is claiming "they should win it without much compe ion".
