If Kawhi happens to be in the MVP conversation, he can take it if we can manage to go 3-1 vs the warriors.

NBA saving the warriors from early season embarrassment.

Just like last year with DPOY. I thought with the missed games, draymond was going to win and honestly he was deserving too..but kawhi stole it from him.

Provided kawhi is top 5 in the race..yeah he might be able to

Still don't see how he's gonna be in MVP consideration. He's great. But I just can't see him beating Lebron, Anthony Davis, James Harden, Kevin Durant, or Steph Curry.

MVP is largely based on team success. With that in mind, Davis has no shot. They won't give MVP to someone putting up nice box score stats on a lottery/fringe playoff team, Rockets look terrible this year so that probably rules out Harden too. Curry, Durant/Westbrook or Lebron are the most likely candidates I think. If the Spurs finish with the best overall record and Leonard's averaging 24+ ppg, he has an outside chance but that's not likely.

Curry was at 23ppg last year whilst not playing DPOY level defense. Obviously that 23 misleading since curry is probably the most influential offensive player in the league even when he's not scoring...but 23 was enough..Heck Nash won with 18..HTW did that happen..

21PPGa and his defense is enough to make him a serious contender provided they finish top of the west...24 and a top of the west with his defense is a sure shot MVP winner bro.

I only said it's not likely because it's looking like GSW are going to run away with the first overall seed. I have a feeling they're going to give Kawhi another DPOY as a consolation prize though.

I would think Kawhi would be a favorite or a lock if that happened, especially if he's also playing DPOY type defense. Still Kawhi needs to show he can stay healthy for an entire season. Only a week in but Curry looks like he's going for back to back MVPs. Also can't count out Westbrook, Durant and Lebron if they stay healthy, or even someone like Chris Paul if the Clippers end up with the best record.

MVP is all about the media deciding whose turn it is. Kawhi won't win the MVP bc it's not his turn. You have to have an MVP caliber season the year before you win the MVP. Basically, you need two awesome years in a row. And if you don't do awesome the second year, then it goes to the guy that won it the year before if he has a great season. Thus, if Harden has a great year, he will be MVP bc it's his turn.

It is actually good that we play them that late in the season as a team..They are definitely more ready chemistry-wise and are coming out with a chip on their shoulders after the fluke/asterisk talk attached to their championship run..so that's a blowout loss or two avoided, IMO..

Exciting and AMAZING! But I fear he will look mega awkward just like he looked at TEAM USA's invitational camp during Summer. Everybody joking around while he resists the urge to grab rebounds and make steals. It's gonna be awesome tho' and he will enjoy it.

They are. Memphis is not the fiery team they used to, but losing by 50 points? Damn. That was a beating. Warriors are going to destroy all teams again this season except for the Spurs and maybe OKC if healthy.

Will be awkward to see actual defense played in an NBA all star game.
