Tbh, this is the only thing I like to watch during All-Star Weekend. I think it would be great to see the reigning defensive player of the year compete and take down the Splash brothers in this event. It would just add to the growing legend of Kawhi!
btw, Pop is a lock to coach the western conference team right?
Yes, unless Pop swings some sort of deal that lets Walton do it.
Why not ? Guy's release is fast enough, and he has the kind of mental for ude & calmness to excel in this compe ion.
This, and I enjoyed watching Belinelli win it
If he wants to, why not?
Should be home resting his body
KL is not that type of 3 shooter; and it would only f with his shot, tbh.
Curry
Klay
Re
Lowry (Hometown selection)
Paul George
Lillard (otherwise Kawhi)
It'd be cool if he made it but he's been pretty rough from outside over the past 5 games or so. I know it is unreasonable to expect him to shoot 48% for the year from downtown but hopefully his 3 ball comes back.
It would showcase his strength such as Matt Bonners appearance in 3-pt contest.
Its like 25 shots. He practices that type of shooting all the time.
The fact most of the media is making a big deal out of how he's leading the league on 3-point percentage makes me think he'll be in it.
Very few if any players practice that type of shooting all the time.
Go look at shootaround videos. Players do somewhat high volume 3pt drills from the five points as a standard practice. Yeah it's not exactly the same or as high volume, but it's similar enough
"High volume" drills is not the same as taking 25 threes in a minute, dude.
I know he's shooting almost 50% from 3 this year, but honestly I don't think he'd do that well in a 3-point shooting contest. He's not a volume shooter.
