    The memo's been sent out; the NBA wants to do away with hacka; all pundits get in line. Seriously, not one person is for it all the sudden. NBA doesn't want their 'stars' being embarrassed by not being able to shoot a free throw. The rigging is in the works.

    Some are actually doing it for self-serving purposes ..Jeff Van Gundy is indirect mouthpiece of his brother in Detroit who have an embarrassing situation with their best player (Drummond) becoming literally unplayable for entire quarters ..Yeah, Van Gundy, a lifelong contrarian in the booth with sundry of wacko proposals, is now suddenly a leading voice against something of the sort: an essentially weird and fringe basketball tactic that hacking is.... ..

    Good point.

    I've just noticed that the rhetoric has really been ratcheted up the last year or two. The NBA clearly decided against abruptly make a controversial rule change; instead, they demonized the valid basketball strategy game after game and make it seem like such a rule change is prudent. I think they made their intentions known to pundits and analysts and persuaded many to tow a hard line.
