Not to split hairs with the author of the posted article but no one actually "donned the mask" of the character in the Wolverine movie and there was much wailing and gnashing of online teeth because of it. Nevertheless Reynolds was one of the few enjoyable parts of a movie that took itself far more seriously than a film with a member of the Black Eyed Peas in the cast ever should. The test footage was fun too, so I have a little hope. I don't know that Hollywood will ever slow down on the comic book bender it's on but if this can be successful it might at least give then some balls to keep lookin deeper into the various universes beyond the same handful of character that have already been rebooted 3 times in the last five years.

Well Fox can't do a whole lot more except reboot the same characters they own the rights to. Deadpool is actually a lucky gift for them if it succeeds. Marvel is doing its level best to sabotage Fox at every turn and get the rights to the X-Men and Fantastic Four back. The latter is always going to be lame from the dearth of bad guys available.

Marvel seems a little less hostile to Sony. Maybe because Sony is signalling a willingness to loan out Spider Man for a movie or maybe Marvel feels that the franchise is about to implode without their intervention.

I would really like to find a way for Schreiber to reprise his Sabretooth role somewhere, but doesn't seem possible. Will be interesting to see how messy the X-Men retcon gets, though Fox never seemed to give much of a about continuity or logic.

A lot of people have mixed feelings about it, but if you know the deadpool character then he's the right man for the role. It's really up to the script on how well the movie is. Ryan is deadpool tbh. If you don't like his version, then you just dont like deadpool

This had me in tears. It had been a long time since I teared up from laughter, tbh. (don't click if you haven't watched. It will spoil one of the best scenes of the movie)
