    Marreese Speights signs with Clippers

Free-agent forward Marreese Speights has signed a multiyear contract with theLos Angeles Clippers, he told The Undefeated.
Speights averaged 7.1 points and 3.3 rebounds per game for the Golden State Warriors in 2015-16 and is also a 3-point threat. The 6-foot-10, 255-pounder was a member of the Warriors' 2015 NBA championship team.
Since getting a free-agent commitment from Kevin Durant, the Warriors have lost Speights, Andrew Bogut, Harrison Barnes, Festus Ezeli, Leandro Barbosaand Brandon Rush from the 2015-16 roster.

He was a very important bench player for the Warriors last year. He won them around 7-10 games due to his surprisingly high 3 point shooting. They will definitely miss what he provided off the bench offensively.

Our bench somehow got even worse. All chucking, zero defense. Jamal, Speights and Auscrub Rivers will be unwatchable most games.

More evidence of State getting a free pass for the Durant acquisition at the price of the juggernaut RS team they had, showing zero give a about their players in favor of "on paper".

Hard to turn down Durant, but there's only one chemistry formula and they broke it. We'll see if it pans out.

I would get rid of Sleights, Ezeli, Bogut, and Barnes for Durant... Seems fair to me

I can't stay mad at ya, Midst. You were wrong on that deal, but, if you can't see it then so be it.

Warriors depth getting real decimated..basically only Iggy/Livignston left from the band and these two could see a down a year due to decline (32yo/33yo)..their Big 4 will have to play +35 mpg in reg season or simply sacrifice wins, which i think they will do after what happened last season....

Zaza is a nice replacement piece. He's got some fire and a head on his shoulders. He'll answer a bell.

, Spurs could have used the er and he would have gotten major minutes to work towards getting paid next season.

I don't know how much the league minimum is but I'am kind of shocked this guy is getting paid that low. I was thinking with the season he had that he would get at least 5-6 mil per a year.

Nah, I prefer Dedmon. Still pretty surprising to see him sign with the Dubs rival and for the minimum. Maybe there is bad blood.

Well, they're not going to be under any pressure to win 70+ games this year... they can afford to lose 20 or 25 games in the regular season and then once they shorten their rotation in the playoffs they'll be fine.

All state should shoot for is HCA ...
I think 65 wins ought to do it and then just rest the key players once secured.

?? He was their best player in that game 7 by far, the only one who showed up. If he plays game 5 do they ring? He is their best overall player IMO, does it all. You thin they should get rid of that guy out of all of them or just not start him?

Speights was the only player of the Bogut/Zaza/D West/Speights group to have an ORtg lower than his DRtg... that's an almost impossible task, having played on a 73 win team. He was also a turnover & foul machine. He averaged 11.6 mpg, the lowest of all four. The Warriors losing Speights would be comparable to the '14 Spurs losing Bonner, had that happened.
