Why is he well regarded? Not criticizing the hire, just want to know his track record as to why he is well regarded.
I don't know. He started at Orlando in the mid 2000s as a scout,, then hired by van Gundy in 2014. I guess Orlando is a good place to learn scouting. Hopefully woj writes an article, this is just his tweet and I don't know if it's even official.
He is supposedly a great talent evaluator and draft genius from what's written about him. Pistons don't have a bad team, and he was just hired as an assistant GM in Detroit two years ago. I wonder if Spurs offered him more money, or even a guarantee he will be our next general manager soon.
