I woke up at my normal weekday time this morning (520) and I was exhausted, I had a heavy weekend, lots of youth sports, lots of driving around the Bay Area, so I listened to that voice that said, it’s ok, you need sleep, you’re tired, you deserve some rest, plus you had some great workouts over the last couple days, then with eyes closed, another voice came to me, as it always does, and said…
Don’t be a b*tch.
And that’s the one I listen to.
So, now I’m at the gym, warming up on the treadmill, starting my day the way I know my mind and body needs it. One which I have never ever regretted in over 20+ years.
Note: I don’t suggest hard self talk is the best. You can replace that word with whatever feels best and comfortable to you. Here are other, more subtle self talk examples:
Get up weenie.
Time to rise and grind.
Let’s do this.
Can’t stop won’t stop.
Let’s get after this.
I’ve got goals to achieve, let’s roll.
There’s no better day than today to be great.
I love you. Happy Monday!
