People talk about San Antonio selling 58,000 plus seats and that was ok but not a sell out. Other teams have a whole year to market for there teams. San Antonio had to do it in 2 weeks.

Baton Rouge according to new orleans news station. Only 20,000 tickets have been sold. Thats the fact that the Saints are from New Orleans.

People that say this is cowboy country need a reality check. San Antonio is team san antonio first in the majority of san antonio. When san antonio gets a team offically. you can count on it that cowboys will disappear from san antonio.

San Antonio > New Orleans/Baton Rouge

That's pretty sad, considering that they're supposed to have a fan base there, plus 200K New Orleans refugees.

20,000 for one game, or all three? Do we know how long the tickets have been on sale? Either way, we totally smoked them

Damn, only 20k over 4 games. That is very pathetic. They should of had all of the games in the Alamodome.

    1. san antonio IS the 8th largest city in the US.
Just for informational purposes. Dallas is the 9th largest city in the US, right behind San Antonio. Here's the difference: The Dallas TV market is 7th in the US while San Antonio's is 37th. The Dallas market is three times the size of San Antonio, so the 8th largest thing might be misleading, since the NFL refers to San Antonio as a "small market" not a "small city".

That said, the New Orleans TV market was ranked 43rd, nearly a hundred thousand TV homes behind San Antonio, and SA does have a track record of enthusiastically supporting their team. The problems that New Orleans had before the hurricane won't actually help San Antonio's case.

They should of had all of the games in the Alamodome.
    Absolutely.

There would not even be an NFL without San Antonio..Well it would be a lot different map..

Without San Antonio there is no California, Nevada, Arizona, New Mexico or Texas...

NFL Commish can suck the big one...

The battle of the Alamo lead to Mexico surrendering Texas, California, New Mexico, Arizona etc...

    You flunk History?

Without San Antonio you don't have an America the way it is today. You don't have a world the way it is today.

that is exactly why tags does not want a team in San Antonio. The leauge already gets phenomanal support from San antonio for the cowboys. The average ratings of 22-25 on TV, that is really high.

In His eyes putting a team in San Antonio is just going to change the support from The cowboys to the saints, not grow the NFL "market"

I really believe our biggest problem is that the cowboys are so well supported in this area. if we hated the cowboys and everyone in this town was not in to football then it might be easier to convince Tags to move the team.

Asskickings don't lead to the asskicker surrendering, it may have given motivation, but that's it.

    oooo????

Have you seen the devestation in the state of Louisiana????

You think those people are worried about football games right now? Do you not know how many people have lost everything they have? I would think that the money they do have is being spent of more important things....like food, shelter and water..... ya think?

These people do not need to have their team pulled out from under them now. They might not be able to afford to go see them now, but they can at least listen to the games and know that they have some semblance of normality lift for them...in their football team.

In a round about way..a really round about way...Vash is correct. The Mexican American War was started over border disputes between the US and Mexico after Texas became a state. The battle of the Alamo led to Texas independence in 1836 which the US then annexed in 1845. California, most of New Mexico and Arizona as well as Nevada came over after the US won the war in 1848. The remainder of AZ and NM came in the Gasden Purchase of 1853.

Vash...I am guessing you are not a Cowboys fan?

It was a battle between white settlers and the Mexicans not the US.

If you mean the battle of the Alamo..yes. I was referring to the Mexican-American War which was fought from 1846-1848. That was between the US and Mexico.

Dallas is combimed with Ft. Worth to creat a very large CMSA.

If San Antonio were given a CMSA, it'd be about 4.5 million and in the teens for tv market.

Take away Fort Worth and its metro area and metro Dallas is barely bigger than Metro San Antonio.
