Big contrast from last year when they looked historically dangerous, tbh.

Spurs scrubs closing the game out on a 7-0 run, too.

Kerr should be thanking Pop. If at any time during the season Kerr feels the Warriors are too high or not humble enough, he can show them last night's game tape.

    Their bench looked baaaaad.

They'll still win a ton of games because they will have at least two All-NBA players on the court at pretty much all times.

But the cost of bringing in Durant is already apparent. Lost the bigs that held their defense together and allowed them to gamble, and a ton of depth. They still have Iggy and Livingston...but they are getting long in the tooth and played a ton of games the past two years.

The Spurs owned the glass all night, and their bench looked miles ahead of the Warriors.

Golden State is still the team to beat...but more than ever, they are relying on a perimeter game to win championships and they have more s in the armor than the previous two squads did IMO. They are far from unbeatable...and last night put the league on notice.

They looked awful. Sure, the Spurs came in wanting it more, but losing your home opener by 29 to a rival is hideous.

They can score but they got ing demolished on the glass. Granted they missed some wide open 3s and a few gimmes but either way, they weren't winning with that putrid effort on the glass. Spurs used their main advantage over GS perfectly and made them pay. It also helps Kawhi is a ing monster on both sides of the court and easily looked like the best player on the court at all times against a team with 4 all stars and the last two MVPs...kawhi made them look like in comparison

They thought they could win playing a 4 vs 5 starting lineup. Fkn trotting Zaza out there. The nerve

The Cavs are actually the team to beat. They won the le last year, and they have the best player in the world leading them.

I would normally agree with you and give proper credit to the reigning champs and Lebron, but...

If your team has Steph Curry (reigning 2x MVP), Kevin Durant (prior MVP), Klay Thompson, and Draymond Green.....you are the team to beat.

Thanks for setting the record straight. Kawhi may be closing the gap but LeBron hasn't fallen off yet. If the Spurs are capable of hammering the Dubs, so are the reigning champs. Spurs obviously need to be able to beat the Dubs, but they have to keep their ultimate aim on the Cavs.

The fact that they have no low post presence, there is a good chance OKC beats them and they struggle with memphis. They really ed this team up hahaha.
