I'm sure every player will want to contend for some tles.
Davis gets traded to the lakers...
End up signing Butler as he gets frustrated with the Bulls.
Kawhi Leonard finally realizes he's being used to make Old washed up players look good and decides to sign for his favourite team
Then Russell will be on a small contract still but will be an All star.
They cant afford to keep clarkson though....
Sad..but even if they dont get these players....they're going to get someone and with a core of young talented players, they will always find superstars..
I'm sure every player will want to contend for some tles.

"A young and upcoming large market team will contend for a le in a few years"
hot take
I think the Lakers have a brighter future than Minnesota, Philadelphia and Milwaukee, tbh.
I will be a contender for the presidency in 2020. Write it down.
OP getting a thrill up his leg.
I'll have to disagree, tbh..I don't think a team led by the Buss kids can contend..
They'll have to make some massive FA signings, though, as they don't have any potential cornerstones on their roster, at the moment(Randle can peak at Boozer if he gets a jump shot and I could see D'Tective peaking as a top 7 PG)..
You gotta give some credit to Jim. He said he's gonna resign if the lakers can't make a deep playoff run this year, knowing that Kobe's gonna retire. He didn't panic because he knew what an improvement chemo can give the lakers. He saw the lakers improvement from years back based on one single foreseeable move.
Maybe he's not Fredo after all.
i'm saying this as a laker fan : we won't contend till the next decade.

Fresh off reassignment surgery, citing a renewed sense of being, Kirbetty Bryant won the Caitlyn Jenner Annual Award for nicest ties by a celeb .
Don't forget their five top 5 draft picks to the equation.
The sooner the better. League is better with the Lakers contending.
