We are all lilly white in this Alternative Universe and we all believe in one God and He lives on a mountain top for all to see. Once a year He flots down and we all celebrate His arrival. Music, drink, yep, a party. With God on the piano.
We can trace our origins back to the planet Xerox. That's where we all came from long long ago. Our God was here then. His origins remain a mystery. Some think He caused the warring on Xerox, knowing this planet (Voltan) was the closest and where the escaping Xeroxians would end up. Now He'd finally have worshippers. But, that is talked about in secret. God is all powerful.
We all work in the factories, or the fields or the caves. All of us make the same wage, except the Horde Rulers, who run the shifts. Voltan never shuts down (except on Arrival Day our only holiday)
Anyone committing a crime are shipped off to the island Fafrad, what happens there nobody knows, nobody has ever come back.
Life is good here, we have our instruments, our books and art.
We are allowed two children, if a mistake occures those babies are shipped off with The Providers, to parts unknown. Rumor has it they become food for the giant hawks that protect Mount Voltan, where our God dwells. That is also only talked about in secret. God is all powerful.
We have no welfare, no need for insurance, and no old people getting in the way. At 70 they are shipped off with the Great Old Ones to an island behind Fafrad, while it has no name we call it Boot Hill. A patrol came back eons ago with a book from a far distance galaxy, in the book was a place where old people ended up called....Boot Hill.
