It wasn't just that he thought Kobe was better, but that Duncan wasn't even in that class to be discussed. SAS of all people had to remind Max how great TD was. After that he relented briefly as they wound it up.
Max is a smart guy and anything people say at FT is purely for entertainment to please casual fans. He doesnt believe what he says.

Anything you can think of, there's a jackass out there who will say it. If they say something that is obviously true, people will yawn. If they say something that is outrageously false, people will get all twisted and talk about them. If it really bugs you, the best... the very best way to get rid of them is to ignore them. Max should stick to boxing and even nowadays he doesn't have a ing clue of what he's talking about in that. He's become a follower when back in the day, he was the one going against the grain
I miss the years where it'd actuarry be a game, when there'd be guys out there who'd try and show off their stuff on defense, actuarry try to win the game, i.e. Shaq, Ben Warrace, Tim/David, KG, Payton, Chauncey, etc.
