Pop either retires in 2020 as he said or he coaches till Leonard starts to deteriorate as a player in his mid 30.

He's about 208 games behind Don Nelson for all time wins? I think if the team averages 55 wins per season, he could get in his 3rd or 4th season?
How long is he planning to coach?

If Pop sticks around that long (10 years) he'll pick up at least 400 wins and most likely >500. But I can't see Pop sticking around nearly that long. He'll retire in 4 years when Parker does.
He's 187 wins away from Don Nelson in regular season, so that's achievable in 3+ seasons.
The tough one is Felipe Jackson's playoff wins record (Pop is 71 wins away).
All time RS + playoff is Lenny Wilkens with 1412 wins. Pop has 1306.
just for the sake of his health I hope he retires earlier ...
for the sake of the Spurs, his health
I'm not sure Pop would want to overtake Nelson, his mentor.
Not sure he'll catch the record and I'm sure it's not part of his agenda anyways![]()
I would like to see someone who coached under him take over and he can just be front office. Either that or carlise
Hard to get a read on Pop's plan. Obviously health is a big factor. (I read somewhere that his wife had health problems last summer, but I don't remember the source or how reliable it was). We all know he was going to hang it up when Timmy was done (he'd said that on at least 2 occasions) but I think the emergence of Kawhi changed things. Pop could last 5 more years, but that would be tops, I'd think. He committed to LMA to be here the life of his contract. So, that's the minimum (barring a health scare).
Doubt he cares, why does anyone care. Kobe isn't better than MJ because he scored more points in more games played
3 more seasons and he's done imo.
He's need to retire already.
If Pop gets close to the record he'll retire to prove he is over himself.
