If you could read but five authors the rest of your life, who?
Someone recommended this in another thread. I ended up watching the whole thing over the weekend.
Really well done. Good story line and great acting. Shot in New Zealand and has some really nice cinematography.
Kind of along the lines of The Killing, The Fall, etc. A little quirky at times with the Holly Hunter stuff.
But enjoyed it. Think it's 7 episodes and the story is complete. So nothing you have to watch season to season.
Did hear they are having a season 2 but it's a brand new story.
7.5/10

Do the authors keep writing? Or is it just the books written up to this point?
Anyone. If they are current authors, cool~~~~
Ok. I'd start with Louis L'more. I've only read a few of his books. And enjoyed them. And he's probably written damn near 100. Then I might go with Philip to catch a ton of sci-if and keep my brain working. Now I think I need a horror writer, a crime novelist, and maybe a fantasy guy. Although I might pick up Hemingway or Mark Twain instead of one of those categories.
I have a hard time putting Stephen King in there because I've read most of his stuff. At least the good stuff when he was sharp. I might actually choose your , Lovecraft.
Hard one... in no order
-Twain
-Verne
-Dahl (mostly because of nostalgia)
-Hemmingway
-Asimov
I'm also into the big heads of the ancients times like Plato, Homer, Ovid, etc. Lots of non-fiction authors excluded that I like, Tolkien, Lovecraft, etc. Pretty hard to make a list of just 5, I could fill up 50 easy
This show sucks. Saw it and felt like I wasted my time on it.
The main girl doesn't sell her tough cop image. Not after Mad Men. She's like the girl that wants to be cool but cant get there.
I liked it. I encourage you to watch it again.
I liked it a lot. The villain is in Iron Fist and LoTR
The Scottish guy? Man...he stole the show on TOTL. How is Iron Fist? I saw the previews and was right on the line between thinking it looked cool or thinking it might be hokey.
It's hokey but I enjoyed binge watching it. If it was week to week I don't think I would have enjoyed it as much.
Well Lee. How does that help me.
I liked it.
I've read about 50% of L'Amore's stuff. Yep, he has a little over 100 books. So by the time I read the other 50%. I would reread a L'Amour book.
Lee Child
James Lee Burke
Robert E. Howard
J.T.Edson
All of them wrote a lot of books that interest me.
If ya like westesns...Zane Grey, Max Brand, J.T.Edson, Luke Short are musts.
Asimov, yep. Lovecraft...the best.
