Will never know. Spurs looked dominant with Kawhi, game 1 was surely in the books. That would make it at least 6 games series.
If Kawhi had not gone down how would this have gone? That first game with GS before Kawhi got injured was amazing! I guess Kawhi must really be the MVP.

The dirty little truth is that Kawhi was unlikely to make it through the series whether ZaZa tweaked him or not.
After Kawhi stepped on David Lee's foot only two minutes earlier, it was probably just a matter of time whether it was that game or the next.
It would have been great for Kawhi to make it through the series and play well the whole way. And maybe he would have. But more likely the writing was on the wall after he first injured the ankle vs. Houston -- he never played a full game after that.
Considering how good the team was playing, how good Tony was playing before his injury, and how good Manu ended up playing i'd say this team had much more chances than they were given before the playoffs started had the team stayed healthy.
We all counted on Kawhi, but this Tony and this Manu were not givens, they would have pushed our chances a lot.
Aldridge and Gasol would have still let is down i think.
Non-injured Kawhi would only prolong the series, but the outcome is still a 5-6 game series loss ... Warriors just played really bad the first half of game 1 ... its crazy to think they would not have made the right adjustments ... they were far too talented for the Spurs this season.

Fully healthy, the Spurs take one game, possibly two.
A healthy Kawhi vs a gs team who's an offensive juggernaut but can't protect the rim... the series is at worst 2 all this morning..

Okay, so if Kawhi is healthy, how many fewer points does KD get each night? Is that alone not enough to swing several games? Hasn't Kawhi been enough to slow down Lebron enough so that the Spurs could beat him?
How many points did GS average in this series? What would that average have been with Kawhi on the floor?
This. The Dubs may have still lost game 1, but I couldn't see them dropping more than 2 to the Spurs. Too much fire power and underrated defense.
Probably. But you take one of the best defenders in the league (arguably the best) away, and it changes things. If Durant gets taken out of his rhythm, and other guys start pressing a little? Kawhi keeps demanding two defenders, and some of the other Spurs' shots aren't so closely defended? I sure as don't have to stretch my imagination too far to see it going to 7 games. I didn't think so at the beginning of the playoffs, but the Spurs were playing damn good ball by the time Kawhi went down.
Look at some of those old Spurs teams, and then take Tim Duncan off the roster (without even a replacement player). Look at how much he meant on both ends of the court. Could they have gotten past Phoenix all those times? Or would it have looked a lot like this WCF against the Dubs? The answer to that is pretty easy. So now just do that math in reverse. Maybe GSW wins anyway, but I think the Spurs would have had a puncher's chance in any of those games, because they close the gap on both ends of the floor.
We've shown all season we matchup well with them, also a team full of pussies crumble when the going gets rough. We win game 1 come out strong in game 2 they may just fold right then and there. Our size advantage and the fact they have no answer for leonard were not going to change.
With healthy leonard and parker spurs could have beat them. Or at least had 6-7 highly compe ive games
Agreed, sorta... despite the fact that these Dubs can score at will, their secret is defensive field goal percentage allowed. 43.5% lead the entire NBA. Those Phoenix Funs teams would never try to make you shoot a poor percentage - they tried to outscore teams. This Dubs team turns defense into offense.
Back to game 1...Klay (3rd option) shot horribly which put their defense out of place when he bricked long jumpers or when they turned the ball over. These are two major reasons why the Spurs had the lead in the first place. Long rebounded or turnover lead to Spur fast breaks or early offense.
You guys can't expect that to have continued all series. Mike Brown made the adjustments Pop couldn't and the rest was history
